Ok i want to make it clear that this is not my having a go at low WR players;

Im a 43 year old bloke with a wife, 3 kids, job, house and a dog: basically what im getting at is that im no one special at all, im not a 17 year old whiper-snapper with awesome reactions, im not a General in the armed forces so i dont have an advanced tactical mind. Im just your average joe.

So what im getting at is, how does a player have such a bad WR?

So a few questions to them players;

Do you play your tank stock all the time?

Do you refuse to fire premium when needed?

Do you use equipment on your tanks?

Do you learn the game mechanics?

Do you watch streamers and try to copy what they do?

Do you use 100% crew?

Do you platoon with friends and learn from one another?

Do you genuinely think you know how this game works and reject any constructive input?

I would just like to know what goes through a mind of such a player.

That's the only relevant thing, the other points are entirely neglectable. Those players are that bad because they don't understand the very basics of the game. And they don't even want to, because... you know... they play for fun, while other (better) players obviously don't.

We could now start to talk about common sense, basic reason and logic, self-perception and all that, but it would be entirely pointless. And not only because said players won't read this.

Phew at first I thought this was aimed a me then I checked my stats, wished I hadn't mind you....

But WoT is touted as a game, tank shooter, which is relatively easy to pick up but much harder to master.

Yes there are the plenty of players that take this game seriously but equally there are those that play just for, well let's call it, fun.

TBH I ain't got a problem with either type of player as long as you enjoy playing, which I do.

Well it's either WoT or EastEnders, Coronation Street etc.

I'm a bad player, but some tanks I do well in. So I will add to your list, have you found a tank that suits your play style?

Do you play your tank stock all the time? money problems?

Do you refuse to fire premium when needed? money problems?

Do you use equipment on your tanks? money problems?

Do you learn the game mechanics? entertainment?

Do you watch streamers and try to copy what they do? why?

Do you use 100% crew? money problems?

Do you platoon with friends and learn from one another? today is pointless

Do you genuinely think you know how this game works and reject any constructive input? entertainment?

biggest problem is money. no money, no credit, no premium tanks, no goldammo, no good exp

try to play game without premium tanks and premium acc and ofc premium ammo

Do you play your tank stock all the time?

While I grind it to elite status, yes I do - though grinding gets a bit

Do you refuse to fire premium when needed?

Usually I don't feel the need - except maybe when facing VKOP

Do you use equipment on your tanks?

Stuff gets added when it is on sale

Do you learn the game mechanics?

As soon as I learned them I wasn't in the regions of 46-% WR anymore :)

Do you watch streamers and try to copy what they do?

Nope - but a video guide for a newly aquired tank is always welcome

Do you use 100% crew?

Being too cheap for that I start new tanks with 75% crew (and maybe a female commander when availiable

Do you platoon with friends and learn from one another?

Yes - loads of fun and learning going on here

Do you genuinely think you know how this game works and reject any constructive input?

Several types of strategies are viable, but adaptability to what the team does (at least in randoms) is trump ;) - even though I find myself sometimes alone on chokehold positions with the team way behind me. Still much to learn

I would just like to know what goes through a mind of such a player.

As a former 46-% player, I'd say mainly a bit of confusion between what works for sure, what works once in a blue moon and what spells instant death. Although even I am somewhat flabbergasted sometimes what people think is a good idea.

Also: drunk driving can be fun for the drunk driver, but seldom for the rest of the team ;)

Jigabachi is right. It's perfectly possible to not use premium ammo and have good stat. We had a thread about this (made by brumbarr) and, if you need further proof, you can check my replays on WoT replays. One of the last one is my 3rd MoE in T-150 (56% WR) without premium ammo. You can also check all the other replays with the same tank showing I didn't change the loadout just in the last battle.

Do you play your tank stock all the time?

Not anymore. It took a while to learn what "stock" means.

Do you refuse to fire premium when needed?

Usually yes, because the game economy is harsh. One exception is when I'm the last person alive and I have a chance to win. Another exception was when I was grinding XP and not credits.

Do you use equipment on your tanks?

I'm trying but it's hard to make credits. And equipment is expensive. Never used Food or Premium consumables.

Do you learn the game mechanics?

I'm trying but I'm not busting my balls. I usually watch videos and visit tanks.gg.

Do you watch streamers and try to copy what they do?

Yes. I started with QB then Skill and now I'm only watching SirFoch (and sometimes Circon).

Do you use 100% crew?

     Now yes.

Do you platoon with friends and learn from one another?

Sometimes - but I don't like someone to tell me what to do. I like to play with my friends, but since this is a game I want to play it how I want to.

Do you genuinely think you know how this game works and reject any constructive input?

I believe I know about 30% how this game works. I do not reject constructive input but I'm not playing to be lectured.

I would just like to know what goes through a mind of such a player.

    1) The chat is so toxic that I had to disable it - I know it is a disadvantage.

    2) I haven't played many games like half a year ago.

    3) I've stopped grinding new vehicles. Grinding is not rewarding. I've stopped at E75 and bought a few tier 8 "competitive" Premium vehicles.

    4) I've told myself I will play only tier 8 and 9 since anything lower is a joke. You will tell me that in the lower tiers you learn the game. In any other games it might be true but this game is a pinnacle of unbalanced vehicles.

    5) I don't like 3/5/7 mm - you either are the "top dog" like WG likes to say or the "under dog". It's always unbalanced. Either it's too much pressure or you have little chance to impact the game. This is one of the reasons I stopped the grinding.

    6) I don't like the "grind to win" philosophy. That you are rewarded with crew skills if you play for a long time - it's unfair for new players.

    7) I read this forum every day (hi qpranger) - it's nice that the moderators are not closing threads. But still it's way more toxic than the Reddit forum.

    8) I watch SirFoch stream every time. I've stopped watching QB when I saw him shooting gold at a tier 2 during a showcase. I've stopped watching Skill4ltu after I saw how much gold he used during that 3marking event (I missed that rigging episode). I'm not saying shooting gold makes you a unicum (I know about that challenge, brumbarr). I watch Claus for the lols.

    9) All in all it's a good game but once another one appears - I'm out.

I know two sub 45% players with more then 5K games that I play with now and them. Both really awesome people. But don't do to well alone. One of them is older then you, his kids is older then me, and that's who he plays with mainly. He is a 73 years old retired Army Vet that had his last job in Kosovo. So he knows military tactics... Just not gamer tactics. Really don't care what others thinks and says in chat. Uses words I never knew existed to troll back, and plays the Sherman and Tiger all the time. Can afford to pay his way around, but still has not spend a single cent on this game.

Then you have the 2nd one. Younger then most, don't have a job or money to waste on the game. So stock is what he mostly plays... But he is 10 years old. And he is improving all the time. He is the son of one of the kids to the 73 year old.

Thing you gotta remember is... Not everyone is as "awesome" as you, nor is everyone as young or as old as you. So even tho your reaction times is not as good anymore as a 17 year old kid is. Many are in the same boat, or have yet to get there.

Average age of WOT EU is not 17, it's 32 years old. So there are many more players older then you think. I'm fairly sure most of the tomatoes most here have yelled at are older then OP. And tho they were really good at Pong and Pac Man back in the day. This is not the same.

i think you are all wrong as some artyhater thought me:

we shouldnt annoy our enemies/destroy their fun/ruin their game

Block Quote

I have a CGC. i nailed a Emil2 for 1.3k threw the roof. that balanced to you? i dont even want to play arty. stupid missions force me to. i feel crappy having to play that class for Order Tokens, a stupid class made to ruin other peoples games. even worse when i get 3-5-7 and i hit some low tier for a miss for near half his hitpoints, a stun and possibly killing crew and modules.

Arty isent nerfed at all. its just another taste of poison in this damd game.

as such all the bad player should be just good humans valuing the fun of the enemies team just higher than the fun of their own ...
