So my girlfriend bought me blackdog for christmas. After 50k battles i dare say that its the best tank i've ever played. Farms wn8 like a boss 1.6k which is easily achievable is like 4k wn8, farms money easily AND damn can it dish out the pain! those he shells  !  Every tier 8 light is laughable against it (except lttb) especially that t92 pos, it can put a good fight against tier 9 lights also and heat works wonders agains jagtigers and crap with fat unsloped armor.

Its a dark day that the best t8 heavies are premium and the best t8 light is also premium..

If you are in the Blackdog meeting T92 almost feels bad with the 3 key & 3446 DPM with 102mm pen.

Yes, it is one of the best lights in game.  Simply because WG didn't nerf it, like they did with every other light tank.

I also purchased m41 90 one week or so ago when it was on sale. 3Marked it and quickly entered in my favorite trio : E25, Lorr40t and M41 90. The only thing that I would purchase now is amx 13 57  if it ever comes back on sale.

Yeah that is the thing, the T92 has very low alpha and in pretty much all cases if a gun has low alpha it has a very high RoF and great DPM. The only exception being the T92 pretty much for no reason what so ever.

If the T92 had 2000=>2200 base DPM, it would be fine.

Maybe T92 has 2,085 DPM and the 185 dmg 35mm pen HE rounds are probably not worth it.

But I don't think its just about DPM as the 320 dmg 102mm pen Hep He must wreck T92 modules.
I don't have a T92 but even in the blackdog its an ammo rack on tracks that often likes to announce 'turret jammed' and generally with the shift in reusable kits and module damage success in a light is a matter of pure RNG.
I guess I should be OCD enough to run out in 10 or 20 games and record crit hits on the blackdog so we can have a comparison, its prob not likely to happen though.

Blackdog isn't that special but its range of ammo is, its the ammo that makes the blackdog.
Maybe its standard DPM is 10% higher than the current light rebalance with 2,275 DPM on its standard round of 240 DMG with 182mm pen.
But it also has HEAT with 250mm pen & 240 DMG.
Its the crazy 102mm 320 DMG Hep HE rounds that always get me in trouble as I am always charging off with a manic expression screaming "Going to kill me some light tanks".
Its quite hard not being aggressive in the Blackdog and you often forget there are many other tanks we big HE rounds and arty that want to share the karma.

With those HE rounds if you are careful enough about aim then in a 1-1 you can release 1200 DMG in just over 18 secs if pimped and with other lights it can have a football hooligan effect of "Come on, if you think your hard enough".
It does tend to lead you to getting quite a battering, but at least you can say you won!?

If you meet armor then you have the choice of HEAT so at start of battle usually I have hit the 3 key have HE loaded swap out then to standard and use a bit of HEAT when helping the heavies.

The ammo really gives the blackdog a versatility, needs vert stabs for it to be effective and sort of sets it up as an active scout rammer / vert stabs / optics with a good crew.
T92 is prob one of the best passive scouts in the game that is practically invisible until it fires and in the current meta with that low alpha prob a hard tank to play.

Havent played the Black Dog yet since I am waiting on equipment discount, but what gets me with the T92 is the RoF. I can make the 175 pen work, but the reload time of over 4 secs is just crap

I bought also T92, I have had blackdog since day one it was first sold. T92 is far worse, but it is fun to play. You really have to work that mobility, if you want to have good games.

And as to WG's inability to balance light tanks... compare the ammo prices of blackdog and T92, to the actual damage alpha they have.

In fact, just compare the prices of light tank premium ammo to the alpha they have. Why do Type 5 etc. have so stupidly cheap premium ammo for the alpha they have.

Stares at you in t49 with 1800dmg in just over 18 secs. (or 1400 if we heatUp).

It wouldn't be so bad if lights could get XP / Cred awards that are not so dependent on the DMG of others.
That way lights might actually have some incentive to spot even if there team is dirt.
This almost purely assist or do the dmg yourself mode for lights means there is little incentive.
Also awards in comparison like "Scout" where you have to spot 9 tanks from 15 whilst "Steel wall" is bounce 1000 DMG from any gun.
You can actually be a reasonable scout and come out of a win with realtive nothing because your team has been dire and they believe you should scout for them, so they can get rewards, without support.
Scouting is often not symbiotic.

Like 9 tanks! That you will cover the whole map and spot 60% of the opposition team.

"Patrol duty" which is quite easy until you factor in the question if your team are going to hit what you are spotting, before spot time out and someone steals the spot.

Much more could be done with lights in terms or awards / creds / xp to make the class more fun and actually promote a scout role.

Yeah the price of gold ammo for me meant with that alpha I aint firing that and looked at the tank and had been waiting with fingers crossed if the blackdog would go on sale.
Meant no T92 for me as its a tank without a premium round of effectiveness that comes near the boundaries of affordability.
Some said they would never sell the blackdog again but hey my advent gamble worked out.

The Blackdog aint that good, WZ-132 is a pretty damn good light, but T92 is definately a strange beast and seems to buck the trend of WG releasing OP prems.

I recently bought the GF as well. Actually really disappointed with the performance of the tank. I expected a really OP tank, basically a copy of the ru 251 which I recently played, but it's clearly not. For me the biggest drawbacks are the shell velocity, the mobility (accelaration and turning) and the camo. Camo is nearly on the level of the Sheridan... Really hurts when you want to spot actively, the mobility doesn't make it better.

Actually I have had such a bad series of games in it, that I perform better (regarding dpg) in my tier 6 mediums than in this thing. "But you have to spot", yeah sure. Using the tank for scouing purposes like a wz-132 or ru-251 turned the tank in a smoking wreck all the time.

This thing is considered as the best t8 light tank right? It really tells me how far away I want to stay from the other t8 lights. The tank prints credits and has really nice (theoretical) dpm though. The HE shells are really great. Recently I got the m4 revalorisé gifted, it's so much better for me and more fun. The shell velocity of that gun, combined with the alpha damage and gun depression make it work like a charm.

Best lights? That is for sure. All old premium tanks are in the moment out of balance. The Type 64 is another beast and it's still in the in game shop.

Best heavies? There are strong premium heavies, that is right. But there are still some damn strong non premium heavies like the IS-3 or the VK 100.01 P just to name two.
