Finally took the plunge last week and have played a few games as stock - struggling with it at the moment, it has good gun depression and aim time (1.63s), but the stock gun is iffy (0.35) and pen is average (160mm). Hopefully the grind will get easier when fully upgraded.

The gun isn't that great compared to same tier other td's when it comes to pen. When you play against heavy tanks like E75, playing it like a med can work. Focus on getting that gun, as it will increase your damage of course. If you can, turn both turret and hull at once, like in city maps, or when it doesn't matter that you're spotted.

I didn't play it recently but I kept it. Speed and gun are ok. Turned badly.

Had good games but I didnt find it really fun to play. Still funnier than t28prot ^^

Played it a while ago when I wanted to try to grind some new line and when I needed a good TD with reliable damage during games (was planning on reachign tier 8 or tier 9 to make personal missions easier - didn't worked). After playing a bounch of games with the Hellcat (was the only elited tank at that time, when I was a kind of guy who never kept any tank after reaching the next in the tech tree) then decided to buy the T25/2 and give it a try. Stock was awful, fully (or almost) upgraded was also awful because no camo, no dpm, no penetration to rely on, bad mobiity, etc. Didn't really enjoyed that because was pretty much a bigger hellcat with 20 more mm of penetration. Kept playing a couple more of game until I decided to sell it because I needed credits to buy the Pershing.

Not good, not really really bad, but definitely not good. Did'nt fitted my gameplay.

Upgraded it is a bit better, especially as I could finally install extra equipment after purchasing the better tracks. The improved pen from the top gun is marginal, but it feels like I pen more tanks now. Ultimate goal in this line is the T30, so we'll see how the grind goes (not looking forward to the T28 Proto though...). GL & HF!

TLDR: T25/2 is actually ok.

First time i tried this tank i was shaken how bad it is compared to hellcat, i must have missed something or i was new and with lack of understanding for positioning and gameplay mechanics. So i did what every "tank" chaser would do, i gave up on idea of having a t34 (only prem i had at the time) with a bigger gun, it was not worth the painfull grind.

Rebought the vehicle yesterday.

This is pleasant surprise, every thread i found on this tank was "this is garbage", "replace it with hellcat". Well, playing rev4 as a main cash cow... this is better at lower tier. Play it like paper medium with slow gun traverse and dmg/wins just rack up... Im now sad that next tank in line will lose this medium tank mobility and intense ROF to get armor that doesnt work in the firstplace (ghould, cough, ghould)....

What are your experiences with this tank?

I actually found it good even if I was bad at that time.

THe roof top is great to bait shots behind a ridge and punish back hard.

I finished the grind with 53% and 83.23% (almost second mark) in 80 games after rebuying. Its deffo on my list for repurchase when i reach all the tanks im interested in having (not far off tho).
T7 gem.. I used rammer, optics, cammo. Consumable cheap oil and crew with 3 to 4 perks. Descent viewrange allowed me to get almost full coverage with optics providing me with more viewrange and mobility.

As one of the forumites mentioned, to some it might not tick all the boxes but damn it was nice grind for me (after wz 131 -> 132 surely the most pleasent tier climb ingame).

Interesting you picked optics. I used binocs and only started using optics after reaching the Proto and T30. Those I play on the front line, so binocs is useless. I just noticed you CAN get your VW over 445 with optics, but it will take a long long time. Besides those optics you will need BIA, situational awareness and recon.

I'd rather stick to binocs. I have my view range at 502m with binocs, situational awareness and BIA. Sadly my winrate dropped drastically after I rebought it, because of constant trash teams. The tank is already hard to play, so it's in my garage for quite some time now collecting dust. really sad.

Currently I am working on my 3rd skill which is camo, because of having a full female crew. I will take good crew skills to play it more like a med once I can work on the 4th. I like the tank a lot, because it is one of the tanks that I was able to 2-mark.

That cheap oil might actually be a good idea! It's worth trying. I think I will remove the camo net and replace it for GLD, because I just noticed I am pretty close to 3-mark it, around 90%. It will be though because I don't use premium ammo in most tanks and only on Japanese tanks. On this tank I have none.

The T25/2 is one of my favorite tanks,

It is vastly underrated,I could never get on with it the hellcat however, I only played it after the nerf bat took a strike. I must say that the 25/2 when fully "tuned up is a beast with a bouncy turret...remember it is a sniper not a TD-meum. the tier 8 gets even better!

I had BIA, Cammo, recon, snapshot, smooth ride etc etc .I just went for Rammer, Binocs, cammo net...and plenty of Sliver

when I lost my original acc it was one of the tanks I sorely missed. Ive been thinking of going up the line again but the Hellcat really doesn't get on with me.:B

I really hate it. Wolverine was epic, hellcat meh, but this is really bad. Poor pen, slow turret, sluggish but with no armour and now it has even lost the spaced armour on the top of the turret. I'm racking up free exp just to skip it and get something with a real gun.

I tryed to play it as a TD and as a med, but it perform poorly in both the role. If just it had the 105 of the turretles version it would be fine, IMMO...

I loved it before HD model, haven't played it after. Did it change a lot?

I think if it had that gun with a turret and the mobility it has already, it'd be OP. The lack of view range places it definitely into second line support but you can play it almost like a medium as long as you stay back from brawling engagements. I play it with binos too for that reason, the extra view range also helps counter enemy lights if you're holding down a corridor. I haven't finished the grind yet but so far the T67, Hellcat and T25/2 are keepers for me.

The main difference is that the turret roof don't have an hitbox now, so arty will slam you harder. Also the gun model doesn't extend on all the frontal part of the turret anymore, so the effective armour is lower than in LQ model. Everything else is quite close.

Don't know. Is not that mobile, IMO. I feel Chi-Ri with stock engine less sluggish, in example.

IMO the main lack is in the gun compartment: bad pen over all and then low DPM.

If we all liked the same tanks, it'd be a very boring game. :)

I didn't mind the Chi-Ri but it's so big that you need to apply for planning permission whenever you park it, the armour is both flat and thin and the auto-loader makes it a one-trick pony, albeit a relatively fun trick when you can pen the target. I recently re-bought the Chi-To though, I preferred playing that grind to playing through the Cromwell.

Agree on everything!

Chi-To is also one of my keepers! :)

I liked the T25/2. Found it pretty solid.

Best sounding gun in the game too imo. :)

I found the T25/2 to be a lot more capable than the Hellcat.  I am only 10k xp away from the T28 Prot, and I'm considering selling the Hellcat and moving the crew into the T25/2.  The last game I had in it I was able to pen half my shots at a Defender frontally, with prem of course, and that really made my day.

The T25/2 was a pleasant surprise for me, one of those tanks that you dont really have a lot of respect for when you meet them but they just work out for you.

Not like the tanks that you struggle against whenever you meet them but when you finally get your hands on one it turns out that it is made of paper and has a potatoe gun.
