Is this a [edited]joke? I'm playing V tier - always on [edited]VII .. playing VI always VIII .. VII always IX. Just [edited]off WG. Bring back old MM cause this is so crap. Just tell me who is getting to the top of the list - [edited]BOTS AND WG [edited]STAFF OR WTF. There is no fun in playing always on a [edited]rock bottom of the list. [edited][edited].The only thing you are good at is [edited]around, making some overhyped shitty updates. *edit

T5 is indeed sort of screwed. First do the math on 3-5-7. Then consider that there are no T3s to create a top-tier 3-5-7 game for T5s.

I doubt it's good for most players, but it's good for Wargaming and the casual players - that might get one or two nice roflstomps in their top-tier tank per week. Keeps 'em happy, I guess.

The problem is really prioritization, the MM prefers 3-5-7 over other templates.
It would be less of a problem if it mixed it up a bit, but that would create less situations where your top-tier heavy can crap on enemy bottom-tier tanks.

(3-5-7's largest problem is how the top-tier tanks decides the game outcome almost every time.  Wargaming wants you to believe that it's preferable to fewer, harsher matches, where your playstyle is close to identical anyway.)

Yesterday we had multiple battles where the enemy team got Type5's and Maus's and our team got IS-4's and T57 heavies. Needless to say all those battles were losses despite us in a 3 man good/great player platoon.

Makes you laugh when Wargaming can't do something simple like making sure *BOTH* teams have equal amount of broken heavies (Type 5 / Maus) so one team doesn't get roflstomped.

It's simple:

Maus = Type 5

Type 5 = Maus

Maus ≠ IS-4

Type 5 ≠ IS-4

Maus ≠ IS-7

Type 5 ≠ IS-7

Maus ≠ E-100

Type 5 ≠ E-100

Maus ≠ 113

Type 5 ≠ 113

etc.

It's supposed to work that way, you know. It just doesn't.

(What did you expect, anyway, for some reason a KV-5 is grouped with Defender; FCM 50t is supposed to take on an IS-3.)

Judging from what we know about the MM, it's a bunch of rules, and some rules can be ignored if need be. That would likely be a matter of prioritization, and it's pretty evident that the 'equal class' thing isn't a top priority. Nor does it work for platoons - and platoons seem to be top-tier surprisingly often (likely due to an announced MM change some time ago). There's also the matter of some weird decisions on which tanks are in which classes. A T57 is only matched against a Kranvagn IIRC. I.e., if there's no other T57 or Kranvagn that can be slapped into the MM, he's getting a Maus/IS-7 as a counterpart.

The thing is, while the broken tanks are bad for the game, the real issue is that most games realistically are a '3vs3'+support (generally you have to "support" your top-tier tanks; it requires massive circumstancial organization for T8/9 tanks to take down one or two T10s). The small number of players means there's a high chance of mismatch in player skill, something that matches with more top-tier tanks don't really have. It's pretty silly; if you are the top-three in a good platoon, it's close to an 'I win'-button. Yes, it is their right to stomp, but it's not very fun for the rest of the players in a match to get a sheer roflstomp.

(Nor is it very fun to be that good top-tier platoon and serve the enemy a roflstomp; it gets boring after a while.)

AMX 50 100 is grouped against VK 100P

AMX M4 45 against O-Ni.

WT auf Pz IV against T95

Etc.
