Hello. Firstly please forgive me for putting this in gameplay.

I recently took a long look in my garage and noticed I had sold a tank back in late 2015 early 2016. the tank is the amx 1357 GF. The MM was horrible at that time for this tank but subsequent patches and changes to the core aspects of the game have made this tank viable again.

I contacted support to ask if it was possible to have it restored. I read the 9.16 patch notes here > https://worldoftanks...s/916-recovery/

In particular this part:

Rare tanks - Defined as special event vehicles, Premium tanks given as rewards for missions or other competitions (e.g., Clan Wars campaigns), or those that used to be sold in the past but currently unavailable

Can be recovered at any time, provided you have enough Credits to buy it back; any rare tank can be recovered once every three days

Condition: you must have an available Garage slot

Buyback cost in Credits: selling price +10%*

Now I am aware I cannot discuss support interactions here so I will not but I am told by someone that because the sale was before patch 9.16 I cannot buy the vehicle back. ( it does state that in the patch notes but why???)

Ofc this is a somewhat disappointing  because I have used the '1 time vehicle recovery' ( why 1 time???? other servers are different...)

So.. has anyone else recovered a vehicle in such a way? is WG fobbing me off and they can but wont? is it reasonable? if so what is the reason?

I feel a little annoyed given the game has changed so much I should be able to recover it. How hard can it be?

yes I know Do not sell tanks.. silly me. but I did.

:(

You should get it back if you haven't reclaimed a sold premium vehicle back. patch is irrelevant as far as I am aware of.

Before the patch you could have 1 tank restored if you had sold it. If you've had 1 restored in the past you're out of luck.

After the patch they can be restored as per the rules you have copy & pasted.

Should never sell premium tanks

I sold the Defender and I don't want to restore it.

Did you sell the tank after patch 9.16? If not, tough because it doesn't apply retroactively.

Not sure of current policy, but WG did actually provide one extra one-time restoration (independent of the recovery system) back during the first tank trade-in. Those might be common enough to work.

If you ask me it makes little sense that you can't recover any tank, though of course the trade-in event is a rather convinient excuse for "you might've traded it in, so we can't be sure, SORRY". Calling it.

Thanks for replies. as stated in the OP I did already use the 1 time recovery. so I have offered WG a deal. will post back.

They gave me the finger. It was a very fast finger I will give them that.

If you want a tank back, give them the money. Best policy ever.

If it's real that WG NA give them more chances than well, it's really not surprising. NA is the special server (like the mommy boy) where they get premium tank marathons, special deals, special events, special stuff, special compensations, etc... We get nothing and we are still waiting for the issues that happened 2 months ago with chat, servers, clan stuff, etc. They said we would have news 2 or 3 weeks ago, nothing yet. EU server is like the lab rat.

This is just another example of pure greediness. If you BUY a tank with GOLD OR OTHER REAL LIFE CURRENCY you should have that tank available whenever you want it. If you bought and spent REAL MONEY to get it, why can't you get the tank back if you sold it for credits, like happens to any other non-premium tank you buy. The tank gets binded to your account and now makes part of it. If you sell it to make credits, you should be able to buy it back after some time for the same currency you sold it for.

But hey, WG probably never thought people would sell premium tanks and when they saw people doing that, "better put some conditions for those guys, we need more money from them".

– Currently we are working on a loyal scheme of returning sold premium tanks. Because it can be done simpler so the customer support isn’t flooded with messages

Hope...

What messages? Since 9.16 there is an in-game system for vehicle recovery, so there is no need for tickets. Tanks sold prior to 9.16 AFAIK are not eligible any more, because of the no-recovery-after-two-months rule... or something.

I submitted a ticket myself months ago to restore some free give away 2 and 3 tiers, but got nothing.

Think I'm going to contact CS once or twice a week and ask to get/buy back that low tier gift tank that I once sold for a garage slot.

I'm more amazed that people would sell tanks they bought with real money in the first place. If you wanted credits, you should have bought gold and bought silver with that. Then again, not many games do this if you sell something you bought with real money. In fact none of the online games I play do it. And WG is the only one with a "recovery" system at all. Not even steam does that if you sell inventory items for "gems". That's your loss then. Now you get a few warnings prior of  you selling it. And if you still do it then? Well. Before there were no warnings, then you had unlimited time on recovery. Now with the added warnings, it's more limited.

I ragequitted the game in 2014, because of the ammount of OP KV-1S  in battles and me trying to learn the game, so I sold my tanks out of frustration. All tanks. Even the M3 Light, the T1E6, the LTP, T7 Car, Light Vickers. I'd pay gold to get them back, but WG says NO as well. Got "the finger" when asking if they could be restored as well. It is my fault, but should this happen, Wargaming should offer a buyback option.

If you've already bought/recieved a premium tank, it should count as merely "Unlocking it" and you should be able to buy it back anytime you decide to.

Imho, you should be able to get your gift/premium tanks back if you have at least one battle recorded in them.

same thing here, i've sold my stug 4 before the 9.16 cause it was orrible to play with the old matchmaker (now i have t28 htc, t55a and obj260 to in my garage) , it was really unnerving...i send many times my tickets but..

..it was not yet possible to recover my stug 4 sold by the game (cause i recover via ticket my dicker max also sold it) , since the recovery functionality did not exist in the game .. obviously the answers to my tickets have always been ridiculous ... almost made fun of by those who work for technical assistance .. a reward tank is not a premium tank so they do not cost anything to restore it since it was not bought with real money in the premium shop .. wg have short hands and only think about their lousy profits

as always they prove ridiculous both in the development of the game and in their policies in comparison of the players , never seen a worse customer service in an online game

and if you spend money in this game then it pisses you off more
