OK, I admit it.  It's a click bait title.

What I actually want to know is ... Is the Obj 907 OP ?

I mean, as a (hard to get) reward tank, the owners tend to be OP, so how much is down to the tank and how much is the driver ?  Do players Over Perform their average in the 907 ?

I've seen those win rate graphs that plot win rate in a specific tank against win rate for the player average.  Can anyone tell me where these graphs come from ?  Is there a site that generates them ?

Its the same situation (at least in my opinion) as a tank such as the Defender. While it is one of the strongest, if not the strongest in that class for tier 10, Experienced players wont really struggle that much taking you out or so on. Where as the average player might. I didnt pick it this campaign and chose the 121B instead, reason being i already have every tech tree tier 10 Russian med and they are all similar, I've played it before tho and honestly prefer my Obj 140 due to the stronger turret and gun depression.

As for the graphs, i have no idea.

Tank is pretty awesome on it's own. Bounces a lot of shots frontally and from the hull. It is probably my favourite med.

I use http://www.wotstats.org for tracking those kind of stats.. Although recently my games have been utter shi(te) haha :)

got mine, not played it in randoms yet as I don't want everyone to realise how bad I really am. Took it out in SH a few times and it seems adequate.

I think once you understand its armour profile it is easy to combat, but remembering it is different to every other med whilst engaging it is the struggle

The tank curves come from this site:

http://wot-news.com/.../tankinfo/en/eu

Is it OP? idk, its definitly the best tier10 medium out there, but the question is of that makes it OP? Since med these days are all pretty bad in the current meta anyway. So when you compare it to most heavys , its still worse than like 50% of the heavy tanks at tier10.

So is it OP? I dnt think so, its the level TX meds need to be at. Is it good in the wrong way? YES, the armor is what makes it good but thar armor is also what makes it very annoying to fight, the armor is random and makes no sense, kinda like the T22.

As for tankcurves, the problem is this: these tanks have a very selecr audience,  people with better recents compared to overal are more likely to play them. So they cant be trusted.

Example:

Posted Image

The black line is the 907, it seems to overperform.  But compare it to a PZVII ( purple line), and compare that to a vk7201 ( orange line) and you can see the curves are totaly fucked up for low population tanks.   For example take the IS5, a worse IS3 in every possible way. It overperforms by a couple of %! ( light blue line).  Thats because the people that play it are not representative.

Object 140 is just as good if not better. 907 armour is not something you can rely on. Sometimes you bounce 2K. Sometimes you bounce absolutely nothing. When your armoud doesnt work the 140 is just better. 140 has better gun handling and better turret armour.

btw I found out that if you shoot the upper plate of the 907 you have a much higher chance of penning it then the lower plate.

IMHO not really. Even the poorest players have better winrates in Defender than they usually have. That's how you really tell an OP tank.

And it's stupidly easy to play, especially since it's tier 8 and not tier 10.

It's a rather forgiving tank by the looks if it in the same way as the Defender. And is in the same spot tier for tier as it IMO. But as with the defender. It's not all forgiving. . And in the hands of a good driver, as most 907 drivers are. It might preform better vs most. But if you face good or better players. It will only take you that far it seems. But that's not a majority of the players for most 907 drivers. Thus it might seem more.. OP vs even the defender I suspect. But as most pointed out, 140 hull down is way harder to counter IMO. But that's driven by more tomatoes to, and thus most don't see it as "OP" in comparison by most.

Then again I don't own a 907 as I could not care less about the campaigns to get it. But I'm going by my experience on fighting it vs other tier X meds. Don't get me wrong. It's one of the strongest tanks on it's tier. But the people that own it vs other "OP" tanks weighs in a bit more to in it vs say the Defender that was openly sold.

I suspect that's part of it to. As most go for normal weakspots and it don't work. At most angles you need to hit between the two spare tracks to have a good chance. Lower or higher up, or on the tracks and it's suddenly close to 300 effective vs 220 or so. Then you have a way bigger chance on the upper plate indeed. Like right under the view ports.

Tbh I don't think the frontal plate is that great? It works sometimes but yeah not reliable at all. Sidescraping and reverse sidescraping in genereal is what makes this tank truely unique imo

Back when the Waffentrager auf E100 was roaming the game, I remember a hilarious moment playing the 907 in El Halluf, where the WT unloaded 5 of his shots on my frontal plate at about <100 meters, each one of his shots bounced. I was less than 500hp at the time... Absolute quality moment lol. The 907 does have it's moments

For a mobile medium tank, it's pretty damn reliable.

The discussion is a bit weird, when people hint Object907 isn't so OP, because you can pen it frontally at least sometimes... it's not a heavy tank. It's a mobile medium tank.

What's up with this sudden influx of these "907 is OP" topics, like it was released a month ago.

I would say Obj140 is currently better. Thing is that 907 is annoying for both the players playing with it and for the players playing against it armor wise. Armor is nothing you can rely on and most of the battles you bounce like 1 shell. Then there are ofc the occasional matches where RNGesus appears to you and help you bounce 3k damage. But people not playing this tank ofc remember all the shots they bounce from the side of 907. Hull front most of the time don't bounce anything and turret top have huge overmatch area unlike Obj140 nowadays.

So, no I don't think it's OP. Good? Yes. But when we have tanks like SuperConqueror, Type 5 Heavy, and WZ-111 5A, what is exactly the thing that makes 907 so OP?

Lots of players got one for the first time, a month ago (since the end of the last campaign).

Have you actually played 907? Reliable armor is something like SuperConqueror, Badger or IS-7 have. Meaning you can go to strong position, take your time and shoot and you can rely on your armor to hold. 907 have no such armor. It will save you occasionally when you make a mistake or take calculated risk, but you can't rely on it. Even tier X mediums overmatch the turret roof with HEAT and turret front can be penetrated really often also. Front hull doesn't offer much protection against same tier opponents.

907 isn't a super heavy tank  It's not even supposed to be able to bounce reliably tier 10 guns. If 907 or Obj140 could bounce reliably such guns, what's the point of heavy tanks on tier 10 at all?

But for the mobility that 907 has, the armor is pretty damn good. Better than it should be.

And you have to remember 907 also meets tier 8-9 tanks frequently. Just like Defender is way too strong against tier 6 opponents, and 907 is way too strong against tier 8 opponents.

They can only bounce reliably when hulldown. The hull is paper on  all mediums, bar the 907 which still has less hullarmor than most heavys.

Thats the difference between superheavys and these tanks.
