Nearing the end of my T32 grind, I'm seriously wondering if moving up to the M103 is worth it or that I'd be better off dropping back into the T29, which I enjoyed better than its successor.

For context, I'm well on my way through the tier IX Chinese heavy as well as the E 75, and slowly working towards the SConq.

The T32 should have a better tier IX canon. The tier VIII canon is no match for tier X and most tier IX.

So in that perspective the T29 is a better tank.

So please update that T32.....

It really depends what you want?

The T110E5 is still very good.

But with the Super Conq around, it has sort of had it's day.

I really like my T32.

I always kept it for skirmish.

Though it seems a bit redundant now, with the Patriot around.

It still has a certain potential for skirmish use, but not as much as it had.

If you just want to play for fun?

I would say, rebuy the T29.

There is absolutely no question that it is the best tier 7 heavy.

Plus if you choose to use the 90mm, with a reasonable amount of premium ammo it actually has the same dpm as the T32!

Using the 90mm on the T32 was the & still is the accepted way for getting the most from it in skirmish!

Which ever gun you choose, does not really matter.

The T29 is definitely worth having in your garage.

I actually play it more often than my T110E5 & T32 right now.

Good luck.

Cheers for the extensive response!
I got the T26E5 from a Christmas box, so for Skirmishes there's no real reason to hold on to the T32.

It's indeed that the SConq is less outdated than the E5 in current meta, and that I loved the T29.

Just pick another line currently the M103 and T110E5 are the worst T9 + T10 heavys in WOT by win rate. The whole US line is plain bad.

Out of 63 records (T8-T10)  the US T9 - T10 have the following results:

Ooft, that's dire. Guess I'll get my second mark on the T32, unlock the M103, then drop back down until the tier IX gets a buff...

Rebought the T29 without thinking two days ago; just realised I could've saved 30%

But it feels good to roll out in it again! Even with my crew at ~92% now I'm kicking behinds, taking names. I forgot how awesome the gun is. I mean, it's adequate on the T32 - but drop a tier down and wow...

A year ago i had the same question. I decided to to climb up the tree. I'm not a good player but m103 was a pain. I didn't research the top gun since i just wanted to skip that tank with a sloped penetrable turret roof. I feel very confortable when playing my e5.

Here's the thing: M103 looks like a workable tank, and I'd love to play it because it's an actual production series that served in the Korean war.

But then I read all the disheartening comments about the M103 and T110E5, and I see the new Russian tier IXs and Xs roll in, and I go "nevermind..."

Back in the T29 now, scored my second star on the barrel yesterday, though in fairness it's taken a bit of getting used again to the fact your turret won't bounce enemies from anywhere but the front unlike the T32's impervious slab of steel.

M103 is a "sidegrade" of the T32. You will need less premium ammo, you get higher alpha and overall a nice gun. Unfortunately you get worse turret armor than on the T32, and tier for tier, the T29.

Currently, M103 isn't great - feels like a worse Conqueror.

I get the feeling that the t9 and the t10 are just worse versions of the British heavies

I didnt even start "life after the T29" lol. Compared the T8-10 with other heavies on tanks.gg, read a number of threads on the subject here on the forums and also looked up vbaddict and decided I would elite the T29 and stop there. Plenty of HT missions I can accomplish in the T29 since I am only on the T28 HTC missions. If WG decides to revise the T8-10 US heavies, then I will pick up grinding up the tiers, but for now I focus on other lines / nations. Does feel sad that WG seems to have forgotten about those tanks (and granted, other nations & lines need some TLC too) in favour of "balanced" Soviet tanks with patch 9.22...

Personally, I never sold my T29.  It was a great tank and I never wanted to sell it however I moved my crew to the T32.  Last night I accidentally played T29, OMG I thought. red crew and no skills is certain doom. But no 2200 damage, a load of spotting and kills and made a profit too. The T32 gun is iffy. E.g. The other day I was in my AMX M4 49 Liberte and I get an AP round through the non angled IS7 LFP.  A few seconds later IS7 tore me a new one as expected. He other day I found myself in exactly the same situation facing IS7 in the T32. BIA crew, premium ammo loaded and the non angled IS7 had just fired, orange reticule on LFP. All good signs. Bounced and dead soon after. How? Premium vs standard and tier 7 gun I think. Premium ammo is supposed to be the leveller for this gun. I think you’re not meant to stop at tier 8, you’re meant to push on to the even more expensive and more annoying tier 10. I heard the new version 1.00 game comes with some flatter maps so Soviet heavies will be less disadvantaged. With the M103 turret looking weakish I may upgrade to T29.

Who the hell thought M103 would be a good idea for an American tierIX heavy  tank. You have 10 degrees on gun depression from tier V (T1 Heavy) to tier VIII (T32), coupled with mostly impenetrable turrets for that line, at least from tierVII up. And then there's this "gem". Suddnely your gun depression drops almost in half and your turret is no longer impenetrable (it's actually one of the worst armored heavy's turret). So nothing at all to do with what the line has been so far, or with how the line ends up - T110E5, e.g. good turret and gun depression.

In my opinion, this tank's role is purely for people to pour free xp to unlock the T110E5, because WG always seems to lock good tanks behind hundreds of thousands of painful xp grind.

That being, said it's not THAT terrible, it just has absolutely no bussiness in this tech tree. They should make a third American heavy tree with terribly armored tanks with no gun depression and put it there.

Wg does not give a damn about old tanks... they are focused only in adding new tanks. So they will lost all the old players

So small update from my post from last year. Played the T32 rental in FL mode last year and I kinda liked it, so I bought the T32 during a discount and have been playing it mostly in FL this year. Also played a few games in Randoms to try it out, but that 198 pen gun has no business on a Tier 8 heavy that sees Tier Xs on a regular basis. Its a very sad state for such a tank that 'the way to play it' is with the STOCK gun and FULL GOLD.

So now I only play it in FL and generally either at the start or at the end when city fighting (mostly when defending though) and it works fine. Have the 105 equipped with hardly any gold ammo since I can choose not to shoot the enemy heavy tank frontally, but rather the squishy medium next to it. Still have no plans to go after the M103 or E5 though until WG finally decides to bring these tanks into the 2019 meta.
