Hey there guys. A friend of mine just started playing WoT and he's been asking me for help with maps and tactics, places to go, areas to avoid, you know, the basics. But it's too big topic to explain just in few words, without going map by map, tank type by tank type. I would need to literally write my own guide if I tried to explain it to him myself. And I'm one lazy frog ...

And so I thought I'll just google some guides for him and it's job done. Well, not really. I've spent quite some time googling and any proper guides I could find are at least few years old, with maps before they've been reworked and with maps no longer in the game. I could not find anything informative and yet up to date.

I need just some basic stuff like pointers where to go and why, and if there are screens to visualise it better that would be very helpful too. Do you guys know of any links with content like that?

Don't go valley on Lakeville, don't go to beach on overlord, Don't push the castle on swamp if you spawn from north spawn, take hill on mines, take hill on tundra, north wins the game on westfield. That's the most basic stuff I could remember right now.

i'd add south wins game on cliff and north wins game on ruinberg unless the ppl having the "pref spawn" are donkeys

also go railroad on live oaks and magic forest on murovanka

Thanks but I was hoping for some web page with text and map screens. It's a way more time consuming to watch youtube guides, not to mention watching twitch replays battle after battle. We're not talking about a guy who wants to refine his gameplay to get better by watching spectacular battles other players had, we're talking about a guy who only just started playing.

Thanks but it would just go over his head. We know where these locations are, we know why we want to go to some of them or avoid others but he would only get confused if I told him what you just said.

That's why I was looking for proper guides about all the maps we have in game. Thank you for replies anyway. I'll keep looking.

You know that there are five different tank classes right?

And that within *each* class, not all vehicles are created equal

And on *each* map there are multiple options on where to go/what to do for each class.

Without even considering how that changes depending on what the rest of your team a looks like.

Or what the red team looks like.

Or whether you're playing standard/assault/encounter/GB.

Never mind throwing TBs/Clan/SH in to the mix.

The answer to your question is no, there is no easy mode map info site.

That should be pretty obvious.

AT least you admit you are lazy.

That's exactly what meant in the first post. Too much to write down in 5 minutes. But I thought someone might actually have gone through the effort. People do strangest things, you know.

Lucky if you can even find a decent copy of a WoT map online let alone a useful map playing guide.

I will recommend this series of tutorials.

His scouting guides are also worth watching, even if you don’t play lights, it’s always useful to know where spotters maybe locating.
