So gg wargaming. Scampering on ways to go back on your promise. A charity event in which players could auctions for 2 broken tanks. the 252U and the su76i.

I get it's for a good cause and all and with such a hefty price tag and it's going to be one person receiving it but it just seems so... Shoddy.

Edit: https://worldoftanks...harity-jan2018/

Auctions:

Edit 2: didn't really use my brain when reading that all profit is going to charity. I guess taking that into account they are just trying really hard to support said charity. I still feel eh about it.

Plot twist, the winner of the auction doesn't play either tanks.

He did it to stop the cancer spreading.

Oh come on. It's 1 tank (of each). It's not going to break the game and it is a nice way of WG supporting a charity. #jealousmuch?

Hmmmm,

"The entire profit from both auctions goes to charity."

I wonder what they class as costs.

I missed it, can you please post your sources for the WG 'promise' not to resell either of said tanks. Particularly interested in the source that I missed regarding the 252.

240 euros for a Defender. I'm pretty sure this is more of a rich idiots competition about who's gonna get the tank than a charity, these same people wouldn't donate 240 euros to charity if it weren't for the tank

Its 1 tank , ONE!! Thats not really selling it again now is it, stop nitpicking on useless things like this.

And btw, I am 100% sure they never promised to sell those tanks never again, so they arent breaking any promises either way.

Polish auction site ...isn't this exactly the same thing as the Type 59 they've sold for two-three years straight? Pretty sure few people cared about that, the going price was far more than even some of the more dedicated loot crate buyers.

If you feel so outraged you could restore the balance in the game and sell your 252U. After all you are hardly stat padding with 580 games and 62% WR so you won't miss it will you?

Where did it say that neither one would never ever be sold again? With regards to the Defender. The wording was simply "the Defender won’t be brought back for sale for a long time".. that was what the devs said at Tank fest when they removed it. Nothing more, nothing less. With regards to the SU-76i, the official statement was simply "We will think further what to do with it. There is no information on when it will return to the shop". I don't see "it will never ever be sold again" anywhere.

And if so, that would be with regards to normal sale. In store, for everyone. This is not a normal sale is it? Nor will we see 100 000 more of them. It's just one. And it's for a good cause. And that's bad?

And tbh, the SU-76i is not OP in the current meta. The T29 gift tank more or less auto pens it with AP. And it takes 2 shot to kill it. And it still has less DPM and pen vs even the Pak 40. I payed €4 for mine. I can tell you it's not worth €200 in the current meta on tier III. Many guns have been added since them. Not everyone has 33 pen there anymore.

To quote MrConway from another thread: "No, 100% of the proceeds go straight to charity."
