Hello guys :)

So, my main goal playing WOT is to find a challenge somewhere. When I was a noob, it was to get some tier Xs, then the campaign came along and I went for the Obj. 260 (and although some missions were stupidly difficult, the satisfaction was there). Now, we got improved equipment, which is cool but you need bonds. (whether that was a good idea from WG or not is beyond the scope of this topic)

So..meanwhile we're stuck with them, how can we get bonds relatively fast outside ranked battle season? Let's start with the basics:

You get bonds:

- in grand battles,

- in full tier X battles, if you have more than 400 xp (400 xp gives you 4 bonds, then the more xp you get, the more bonds you earn. See (scroll down till you find the slider): https://worldoftanks...-grand-battles/

- in tier IV+ vehicles for earning certain awards (see attached photo)

Now that we got that covered, let's get going:

Step 1: Make sure you get into as many grand battles and full tier X battles as possible

=> select grand battles BUT NOT SELECT assault and encounter => will boost your chances to get into grand + full X

Step 2: Hunt the awards (crucial)

- if you look at the picture attached, awards in tier X are worth more than other tiers (even tier 9) + Step 1 => play a tier X tank

- most valuable (normal) awards: Scout, Patrol Duty, Invader, Defender => all worth 5 bonds each (if you are in a tier X tank, regardless of the MM)

Now let's put all that together => play a tier X kick a** scout => T100 LT

I absolutely LOVE this tank. Given that it meets the above criteria, I MAXIMIZED view range and camo (primarily to get Scout and Patrol Duty). Then I took it for a spin.

Statistics so far:

Played 25 games since I came up with this theory and got 176 bonds => 7.3 bonds/ game (and the rate seems to be increasing). I will update this as I play more games.

Out of 277 games in T100 LT (252 of which were played w/o bonds strategy in mind), I made 49 Scout+Patrol Duty. Also, the opportunity for Pascucci and Invader is surprisingly common.

So, assuming a 9 minute game on average => 6.66 games/hr x 7.3 bonds => 48,66 bonds/hr.

Say a casual player plays about 2 hrs/day => 97,33 bonds/day => a casual player would need 51,37 days to get the most expensive equipment, which costs 5.000 bonds.

So, yeah...that's it. Please let me down what you think in the comments.

PS: Another bond earner (out of what I have) is the CGC...this thing is pretty good for getting Gore's Medal (7 Bonds)

Fair enough. I made this for those who are interested and get some feedback/opinions from them :)

Are bonds and ranked battles still a thing?

I have 2k bonds but really couldn't be bothered to farm 3k more for 1 piece of marginally better equipment, even with your helpful guide it'd take way too long.

Maybe WG will let our crews eat them like consumables, theres got to be some nutritional value to a bond, bit cardboardy possibly but add a little seasoning and a side dip, got to be worth +2.5%.

Or alternatively let me wallpaper the inside of my tank with them.. brighten the place up a bit. God knows my German Heavy crew need a little colour in their lives, their portraits make them all look so miserable ... I think they might be depressed..

You can buy directives for bonds.

...and after all this hassle you realize they have barely any effect on your tank

I have around 1k bonds and use them to get 100% firefighting in some tanks that are made of fuel tanks like Object140. Its only 2 per game. Yes, I also have automatic extinguisher in Object140. The tank seems to burn twice often in a single game.

You can also use bonds to get 6th sense for a tank etc. If you don't plan on saving them, why not use them.

It is true that improved equipment makes little difference, but not always. I had a few games with a random guy who has his E25 all decked up full improved equip. He has like 5 talents / crewmember, used food. I can certainly say that in a tank like that improved equip makes a big difference. We platooned for about 10 battles. Regardless of tier, he would always guard the base. We never lost in any of those matches even when he was left alone vs 6+ tanks.

I think WG could increase bond earnings a bit (or lower improved equip prices). Sure in an excellent tier10 game you can earn 20 - 30-ish, but that only will happen regularly for the very best players. The problem is that bond earnage is so slow that players just got really uninvolved with the whole thing. And this also has an impact on (both) grand battles and ranked battles. If players don't care about bond they won't participate in gb and rb either.

If im after my 3rd mark or a mission i might use the 1 sec SS warning, but TBH as others have said they are pretty pointless

I think WG screwed up and actually created 2 new currencies, both called bonds.

There's the bonds you earn in Tier 10 and from medals, 2 or 3 here and there and they can pay for directives which cost 2 or 3 here and there.

Then there's the bonds you earn in Ranked Battles, and clan wars 200 or 300 is you play a bit, 2000 or 3000 if you play them a lot and do well.  These pay for enhanced equipment and/or reward tanks that cost 5k-ish each.

The fact that these two quite different scales have been combined into a single concept seems bizarre to me.  It looks like it just wasn't thought through properly.  It certainly wasn't advertised properly.  If we'd known that 4k bonds would be needed to buy the 907, then ranked battles would have been A LOT more popular.

FWIW I have about 2900 but no real plan to spend them on anything yet.

2.5% does make enough of a difference,Especially during competitive play.

I wish i had 200k bonds just laying around like others seem to

I suppose if you got the bonds lying around why not use them I really don't get that some people are so lackadaisical they cant be bothered/ arsed to use them. Its a bit macho for my liking. Too tough to click on a mouse

mmmh  i have 124 bonds... or so... im sure by 2041 ill have enough to buy myself some 7.5% vents...

BUT OP's guide is not bad.. if you are a daily player..

For those that play only a few times a week (like me)... might as well learn to play better... im sure it gives better rewards than small % increase in equipment bonus..

Improved equipment is a shill, and does make almost no difference.

In this game you have a +/-25% RNG, this means that the general RNG factor is roughly 40%.

That 2.5% more given by improved equipment makes just a little difference and can be totally negated by bad RNG.
