It's probably just paranoia, but I had the thought that all this "historic / non historic" camo, paints, and other options are just a clever 1st step to brainwashing people from the "historical" game point of view to a more relaxed view on the overall game.

This will in turn allow them to introduce the anime tanks that already exist on the Asian servers.

If I need a tinfoil hat, can someone get me one with the Patriot camo pattern?  Thanks.

There's never been a historical point of view to this game, they have stated from the very start even before testing this is not a ww2 and it's not a historically correct game.

Then it wouldn't hurt them to give Black Prince a 20 pounder with less pen wouldn't it

Not true. Not a long time ago (3 years), they boasted about historical accuracy of their game.

Anime tank would mean the breaking of the historical immersion (partially lost because japanese superheavies and clown camos) and probably many people would leave the game and look for another alternative.

Only in the terms of real tanks whether they were in service, testing, prototype or just at the drawing stage that's the only historical accuracy they mean, there are no make believe or made up tanks in the game.

Do you mean perhaps the Valkryia Chronicles tanks, or do I not know of any other "anime tanks". I can only imagine the Valkryia stuff, and honestly, I doubt the customisation stuff will open the gates for that stuff. They would probably know better than to even try to introduce anime stuff outside of SEA, especially EU (saying that because a lot more NA Forumites seem to have anime avatars whenever I glance over there). Hopefully those people can be happy enough just installing skins for the stuff instead of putting it in the actual game, even if the unhistorical option.

You mean the same way they slowly introduced the "penetration drop-off mechanics" the majority of players on the Sandbox server were against by not increasing the penetration drop-off but instead buffing all armour and removing weakspots?

So you mean to say that Wargaming will do exactly what the community was mostly against because they don't care?

What a surprise......

If so, it would be unhistorical, and 90% would still not see it. But due to license issues. I suspect they... at least the two types we know of to remain on SEA. As their deal only did extend to Blitz for EU for one of them. Just like the Warhammer tanks.

Well, we all saw how well the one premium HT they sold that had weakspots did. So I suspect they won't make that mistake again.

To be fair, I wouldnt mind anime tanks that much as long as I can uncheck a box and never have to see them.

I rather liked the fetching one with reindeer on it, you know Rudolph, Prancer, Sleepy, Bashfull etc.

I couldnt care less tbh. There are far more important issues then someone having anime cat lolis on his tank. And if it goes on my nerves then I can simply turn them off in the settings.

It's telling that a properly balanced heavy tank premium does not sell "enough" according to WG. Shows how far they've already broken their game and balancing over the past years.

Wargaming is in the business of selling pixel tanks, a commodity that takes very little resources to make and gives a very high return. In total making a tank like the Mauerbrecher probably costs €2000 in total for all the research/modelling/intern typing in stats because that is mostly being done in dirt cheap Minsk. So with a price tag of €35 or what it was they need to sell 58 worldwide before they start to make pure profit.

I dont want to defend WG at all, but those 2000 Euro is very far from the costs imo. It can take up weeks if not months of several people man power to code, design and make such tank work within the game engine enviroment. I have a close friend working for a tripple A game company and there is usually a team of people working on even a single game character for weeks.

Anime tanks well why the heck not hey I quite like the idea of occasionally playing Girls Und Panzer if I can have that red and Yellow Stug III maybe with the flags too.

Point is it makes them money some like it and those that do not can turn it off.

Its a game addition that gives absolutely no advantage so no problem.

The new camo sistem was probably introduced for kids , you know this playerbase has kids too not only +20 age ppl. You can also disbale it if you dont like it so i cant see the issue at all.

Let kids have fun also , and let them play and learn.....

If you don`t like it just disbale the non historical mode and thats all.

To be fair I guess the bigger reason for not to sell the animu tenks is the fact how broken the Nameless is. And I don't think they want to release the Edelweiss (or whatever it is called) without Nameless, even if it is fairly balanced statwise (if asked from me it seems trash tbh).

School 1: Anime tanks not Ok

School 2: Anime tanks OK as long as I can turn them off.

What if you can't turn them off?
