Sooo.... Just saw the Light Mk.VIC in the premium shop. Bundled with some premium time. This is of course great if you don't have this tank and want to pick this one up. As a rule we don't see many of these former gift tanks available for purchase in the shop. I have seen the Tetrarch a couple of times and a while back (2015?) there was a bunch of them bundled available for one day in the advent calendar. But for us who would like to get our hands on one of the former gift tanks, the opportunities have been few. I would really really love to get the BT-7 art. I would love it if Wargaming would continue to offer these former gift tanks in the premium shops, or through specials. The can be bundled if need be, just as long as it isn't anything outrageous (like with the Pz II J and the BT-SV).

Oh, and while you are at it Wargaming, bring back the FCM 36 Pak  40 !

And the Defender.... for reasons....

They do bring some of them back now and then. They did have a €20 bundle last year with a few of them in there, inc the M3 Light and a bit of gold. Not often they have sold them alone like now, in a bundle ofc. Tetrarch was sold in a bundle with a T34 an earlier Xmas. And the M3 Light with an IS-6 etc. But on their own or in a bundle with other gift tanks, they never go for more then €5 to €25 depending on how many gift tanks there are.

I suspect they will never bundle it for €99. As they are not rare, or uncommon for the most part. As mostly everyone has it, vs the II J or the BT-SV etc.

And don't get your hopes up for the Defender any time soon with the current meta. Or the Pak 40 tbh. Along with the pre nerf TD camo value. it has 400m base view range on tier III. And dominated on Province with 15 spots in the first 5 seconds each time almost, as most had it on 445m. That was a big reasons for it's removal. And still is. Not been sold once since it's removal in 2015.

Then again, my Premium Sexton spg has 440m view range to. I already aced it once by spotting assist just for the heck of it on an open map :P

If they give us an opportunity to buy the BT-7 art, I'll return to wot. The only gift tank I don't have since 2012 and I only missed it by 1 hour. I've checked every calendars's every day, still nothing. Big regret.

Just out of curiosity, what's so special about the gift tanks? They're all low tier with severe map restrictions, you only get to play against newcomers and baddies and many of the tanks are outright bad.

While you're at it, how about popping the Type 59 back in the shop for a day or two as well for those of us who weren't lucky at Christmas? :great:

Mostly something for collectors, really.

I, for one, would love to get the Type 97 Te-Ke that way.

Or any other way, really.

Just gimme my Te-Ke.

I can handle it.

-crazy look in the eyes-

Gift tanks? Isn't it cheaper to buy hangar slots then buying a tank and then selling it for the slot? ^^

But the tier III Pz IV A, mount the L24 gun on it and go full HE. There you go... more or less the same thing. Or as interesting.

You knew the answer before you asked it. They are unique. Besides BT-7 art. is a even speacial tank among them thanks to the fast speed and the troll gun.

Don't underestimate the lower tiers. Low-tier tanks can be challenging and fun. For fast paced action tier 2-3 is where it's at. And some of the gift tanks really grew on me. I played many many games in my Tetrarch.

I've kept all gift tanks all the way from Tetrarch to Pz II D.

The best are:

Tetrarch

T1E6

The worst are

L-60

Pz II D

Toldi

BT7 art is pretty meh too tbh, I never really got it to work for me. LTP is supposed to be decent too but never really played it much.

T1E6 and T7 combat car  can be real fun too, as Ltp.

But yeah the best are tetrach and Bt7 art. Light vic can be op too but lack penetration.

But no wonder Bt7 art is the only one still in almost every  battle : you can 1 vs 5 without problem :)

It is fast, has a troll gun, and has a good armor.

I Have most fun in my Pz.Kpfw. 38H 735 (f), when I feel down iIplay it and it cheer me up.

This little bugger is one of the most fun tanks to play and doesn't need gold ammo like the pz2J to do some real dmg.

But then again, it's overpowered and just need some care near a few tanks............and almost never for sale..........

Don't feel ashamed you can't play anything above tier V.

I've played most of them for over a 100 games. To pad? Not really. As the only way to quickly train high tier scout crews for some nations are still gift tanks. And some nations have a few low tier premium lights to make a fresh crew go really fast on a crew xp bonus event like US and Russian lights.

Same. Got all inc the M3 Light. BT-7A was fun, but short fun for me. LTP is a weaker T-127 with the same gun, less dpm, less power to weigh and 10mm less hull and turret armor. Just enough to not be effective as top tier. So I never played it much after I aced it.

Toldi? Thats not a tank, thats XP pinata. There was once a book titled "Around the world between two shots of a Toldi" by Jules Verne but he changed the title later because no one seemed to understand why that one would be a feat.
