why dont use only 1 Radio Operator (with signal boost skill) for all tanks from same nation and type ?

(only for tanks where Radio Operator is separated - not integrated with other crew member)

The only effect by penalty is on radio range (about 10%) which signal boost skill (+20%) will wipe out.

so the Radio Operator became like premium crew..

Because they brainwash crews.

You could as well ask for crews with more than 1000 games in a tank that they can keep this tank knowledge after retrain.

OP's point is that there's no actual penalty in using one radio operator in all tanks that requires one. RO baseskill shouldn't govern anything else than radio range, which the perk mentioned compensates for.

I'm not entirely sure how it works in detail, but the lack of ROs in most high-tier tanks makes it sort of a irrelevant issue for many players. It's also kind of annoying to wait for the E50M to get out of battle before you can take the Maus out. Decent option for grinding if the line drops the RO higher up, through. You can make the same case for the commander in artillery, if the need of sixth sense outweighs the penalty in commander boost to the crew.

Because some tanks use two radio operators, yes really they do.

You could still go cheap on the second though.

Why not?

Basically you move up whole crews. Saving on replacing the RO only saves you either 200g old 20k credits. Especially if it is the latter i would just splash out on the 20k because it is less hassle and you do not need to wait for the battle with the "Premium RO" to finish if you want to play.

People do play low tiers with their best high tier crews sometimes (hunting that elusive R35) and that is a similar idea.

PS: Aikl Maus and weak tank are not the same type and 6th sense should never be more important then the crew bonus for arty commanders.

I've used entire BIA crews in low tier tanks without retraining because I couldn't see the point in spending credits for them to play a few battles then need retraining again.

Just chuck vents and food on and you've got a better crew than most of your opponents already.

I use untrained crews in low tier tanks too, makes no difference and you still get the skills.

I also take a highly skilled RO and retrain them to be a commander for a new crew. The replacement RO gets trained super fast as they have the lowest level, if works bestnif you dont have BIA yet

it costs 500 gold but in the right circumstances it's worth it as the skills get reset for free.

Well technically at least one of them is really a machine gun operator, but since that is not modelled in game... :B

Just did some tier 2 & tier 3 grinds at the end of the Holiday event, and did them with n00b and/or untrained crews, and no equipment as well.

For the few battle it takes to "elite" those tanks, it's just not worth it, and would actually lose more experience (when retraining for credits), than you earn while "eliting" those tanks. Things significantly change at tier 4...
