M103 as an American HT doesnt fit the playstyle of t29 or t32. It hurts. Anything pens you. Its so baaaaad. If i wanted to play mediums i would have played patton or Russian bias. I just dont get it why dont they call it a slow Medium tank rather than heavy... Wasted time and effort on T32 to get this crap...

Does that say more about the Conqueror or the M103? Ordered by win rate, Conqueror is 3rd w.r.t. tier 9 heavies, M103 is dead last. If we increase the selection criteria to include all tank types, the Conqueror drops to 11th (good, but calling it OP might be a stretch) and the M103 is 46th. Out of 46.

Really? That sounds kinda unlikely given that the SU-122-54 is still a thing.

SU comes in at 41/46. Still not very good, but better (at least by win rate) than the M103.

The capable M103 is as good of an example of how the game ought to be balanced: The worst people can say is that the T-10 and the Conqueror are better. That isn't really an argument and doesn't make the M103 a bad tank (no tanks with good guns are bad). The M103, just like the AMX 50 120, and even the ST-1, aren't nowadays scary. Just like the T-10 isn't a scary tank. (The Conqueror is, after buffs.) Armour-wise the M103's could be improved but that doesn't translate into being bad and that's the balance it should be emulated across all tiers and classes. If you take 50% of all the tier VIII it meets the M103's armour will work, but for some reason people associate "good armour" with being invulnerable ...

Its not that bad actually. You just have to be smart about how you play.

Try not to remain stationary, make it harder to hit, keep moving when you're reloading or you can even raise your gun.

That's what I did/do with T34 as well. Gun in the air wiggling and the roof is very hard to hit but I do think both T34 and M103 should have at least 40mm roof.

American deserve that 38mm roof. So next time they learn to use the International System! 40 mm instead of 1.5 inch (38mm)!
