So, last weekend I decided to take up the grind and rebought the Object 416. The 430 U just looks quite interesting, and the Soviet nation is the one I have the most crews, crew trainers and researched modules anyway. While I´m aware the 430 U might change quite a bit after testing, I´m taking the risk and grinding it out now because otherwise I´d have to go back to tier 5, unlock the T-34-85 and grind the whole line towards the T-44. Now I can grind from a fully upgraded tier 8 and even keep the path open to another tier 10 medium - the upcoming rear mounted one - in case that looks interesting too.

The 416 was my first tier 8 medium, and quite a special one at that. It takes a while to get into, but has a lot of potential. I actually managed to grind it out with two gun marks, making the 150K to the 430 II in relatively short time. Currently, I´m on the fully upgraded 430 II, about 190k XP away from the 430.

The 430 II is quite a special machine as well. Other than the 416, this one has decent armor, which makes it a bit more fun for me as I dont have to be so cautious all the time. It´s less stealthy for me as I re-trained the crew from camo to repairs to enhance the sidescrape, but it brawls a lot better. The gun though, while decent, is not nearly as powerful as the 416s gun was on tier 8. While I do have both guns researched, I´m using the stock gun for better handling and dpm, and yes, obviously a fair share of gold rounds as well. I´m somewhat low on credits, buying first the 416 and then the 430 II on a whim without any discounts, and the running cost arent low as well, but I manage to at least stay even by hopping into my Lorraine whenever the 430 II dies early.

While I haven´t powergrinded something in quite a while (last powergrind made me hate the game, wasnt gonna attempt that again), I gotta say the constant kind is almost relaxing. I know I´m making progress and I dont really care for stats as long as I´m moving forward. And the 430 II is kind of fun. Decent mobility and view range, armor that can be super trollish and can go in for facehugs, HEAT ammo that can engage eny target, and actually pretty decent hit points. It´s interesting to find usuable spots with the awkward layout, and occasionally you can even try to out-sidescrape the heavies for the lols. It can be difficult occasionaly, when there is a key position on a map you simply cannot work with 4 degrees gun depression and a back turret, but I´ve gotten somewhat decent of working around these flaws. Overall I´m still pretty glad I chose to grind this line earlier on, not only for the opportunity to get the 430 U early, but because the tanks in it are so varied. I know WG is trying to homogenize lines all the way, but I gotta say, I enjoy it quite a bit when following tanks offer something different. Kinda sad this will vanish in the future.

So, folks, how´s your grind going? How do you feel about the lowline meds and do you enjoy the task or do you struggle? :)

this is such a long post that I cant leave it without an answer;) well I dont think Im gonna make it, more valuable tanks to grind and Im so sadomasochistic that I rather spend my time getting 3 marks on the SU-101 and SU-122-54

but good luck on your grind:great:

Finished the A-44 - quite painful but started to get the hang of it towards the end.

Started Obj 416 today - 28 games & 78% win rate so far, so good.

I should unlock the Obj 430 before the patch hits without too much trouble - as long as I don't run out of XP doublers.

Most difficult thing I'm finding is getting used to the lack of gun depression - can't go to same places I like to go.

Yeah, that is quite a challenge. Im kinda seasoned in that regard, given I also grinded the Object 263 before (which is gonna get screwed by this patch). The 416 especially feel like what the SU-101 should be, a deadly stealth sniper, only that the 416 is vastly superior due to semi turret and HP advantage.

What the heck, man. The SU-122-54 was the aforementioned grind that almost made me quit the game. I absolutely hated this machine and just wanted to get over with it. You really must be a special kind of player if you´re trying to three mark these bloody awful tanks, especially when one is gonna get removed anyway.

Obj 416 should be a quick grind but playing it like a sniper doesn't half get you map pinged a lot.

About 250000 exp to go to unlock the 430. I should be able to make it before the patch. Just 7 to 10 two hour sessions with exp boosters and I'll have a lot of free tanks the next patch

I 'm glad I had a fully upgraded 430ver2 since early 2016. I'm not glad I had lost interest in playing it until recently. 156k XP to 430.

Finished A-44 today, 74 games, 74% WR. Had to change my play style because of that atrocious gun. Went for aggressive spotting and yolo which reflected positively in overall WR.

Wasn't the worst grind, but I was so happy to sell it.

Been grinding through the 430 II. Having quite some trouble in the beggining but now it seems to start getting better as I started understanding I have to use the 201 pen gun because of the gun handling and I need to lose 10-20k credits in 2/5 battles if I want to have a good impact in the game and get some experience. Most of the times I try to be cheap and end up with close to no damage at all. As long as I find a good corner with something to sidescrape with and with some wiggling it is working 50% of the times. Currently in 90k exp after 100-ish games as I grinded it all stock with 0 free exp used (thinking in using some for the 430 if I start hating it even more). Most of the times when I start a 2h exp booster I end up playing the other 5 or 6 tanks I've grinding at the same time and at the end of the booster only 45-50% was used in the 430 II lul.

And once I saw it asks for 260k exp (compared to the 200k-ish the other 2 mediums ask for...) I almost passed away. It's a lot of exp.

had the 416 for years, started 430 mk 2 the other day stock gun best gun so the grind is easy, especially when you carry plenty of HEAT. it cannot sidescrape vs bigger guns but today sidescraped vs AT15 and it bounced everything.

turret is amazing... hard to position for obvious reasons but the camo makes up for it even if it is not 416 levels. overall the t54 is superior and even the t55a probably purely because of the platform.

anyway its a decent tank capable of being of use on any map vs any tiers. Should take me till mid next week to unlock 430.

One of the worst grinds I have done so gar. So happy to have the 430 in my garage. Hated them pretty much all.

Surprised how actually decent A44 is, never bothered grinding this lane before, so never actually checked what mid tier tanks are like. A44 might be actually one of most fun T7 med, which, most of them not being that good machines anyway.

Just started 416 and, i can say, so far its just feel big downgrade from A44. Having literally no armor with combination of nonexisted gun depression effects me most. Having to unlock its 2nd gun (same gun with different name = you have to grind it again, WG logic) also makes things worst. Gun would change a lot, probably, will see it eventually. but not actually rushing it anymore.

In the end, quite doubt that i'll complete this grind, as i don't even feel like playing WoT lately. Specially after Holiday event ends plus i'm out of 100% xp thingies. Grinding stock tanks pretty much is pain.

Play it like a TD & use the camo when firing to the max, as even TD's envy it, as my 416 has more camo and camo when firing then my UDES without a camo net. Sitting at 44% and almost 9% when firing. No need to move out to anything early on. As it's arguably the worst ridge line fighter there is. But at the same time, one of the best tier 8 meds due to the DPM/camo combo. Just abuse that double bush and let the gun work.

Really? Technically it should be able to sidescrape almost anything. This is the 430 II against an E100s AP shell:

If the front is hidden behind cover, the side should be autobounce and the turret still pretty tough overall, with only that tiny spot directly under the turret that can be penned. Sure I´ve been pennned sidescraping before, but I always assumed I just got the angle a bit wrong.

The 416 is a ciompletely different beast than the A-44. The 416 eventually gets an amazing gun and best in class camo. It abuses camo and view range to kill enemies invisibly or pops around corners to snap 320 alpha shells into distracted enemies. It´s not a brawler at all like the A-44, but once you get down the style the 416 is really capable, and I´d say overall a much better tank than the A-44.

On the 430 v2, really like this tank despite the gun depression. I just play it really aggressively, the armour layout just seems to work a lot, especially if you get into peoples faces, I am averaging nearly 1300 damage blocked a game which is better than many heavies.

If I went full HEAT I think I could get average DPG to over 3.5k I reckon but I need to make some credits or not lose too many to enable me to purchase the 430 so I'm trying to use AP as much as possible. Very frustrating though when you keep failing to pen an E100 in the side!

Hovering around 2.8k at the moment, was over 3k but had a run of those very one sided super quick games, including a couple of 15-0s so there just wasn't enough damage to go around, hopefully I can get it back above 3k again as I am hovering around there with most of my tier 9s these days.  Win rate is at 64% but very early days.

Should make it before the patch I reckon, especially as the tank is fun, I am more worried about the credit grind as I have run out of credit boosters and it's going to be a pain to grind credits now the Xmas boosts have gone.

I'm not grinding anymore, just playing whatever i feel like for a few battles a day, maybe.

So i lost on FV and others but i already have this one in the garage and will probably sell when it's pushed back to tier 9.

I was tempted to start the grind, but I'm sill on the A-43. There is no real tier 10 reward tank up for grabs here, which keeps the motivation levels low. It only saves you some time. It probably doesn't save you credits, because you have to buy everything at full price, which also proves to be a problem for me. This makes the grind quite a bit longer.

The plan this year is to complete every tech tree except for the Russians and tackle these next year. Only problem is I'm playing less and WG increasing the release rate of tank(lines).

I does work at range but when you get close to taller tanks with bigger guns that upper hull section becomes a focus point as does the roof. its not that the sides are weak just that you expose other things even if you get the angle perfect.

I would say it is going allright, currently 160k xp on the 430 v2.

I played 3 games in 13 75, which were bad.
