OK guys, I played the testserver a bit now, however at some point I could not stand a certain group of the Russian playerbase any more.... It tells you a story how different RU and EU actually are. Not that this is anything new but oh well, just needed to put that out there.

Now to the point:

Ask yourself: What do these new tanks add to the game? Honestly nothing. They are not historical, or better inconic, they are now new in any other regard. So yeah. Nothing new nothing new... They are just powercreeping other, older variants of these tanks and designs. There is literally NOTHING new about these tanks than a new (slightly different) model. Its just "more tanks". Not something necessarily bad but it very much feels like they are just added to add more content and keep people playing.

The powercreep: Long story short: Which tanks are going to be redundent after the patch hits:

  • Panzer VII: Only one short year old, never really a success story to begin with, but the new Obj. 705A questions this tanks existence. 705A is better armored and can do pretty much everything the Panzer 7 can, just better.
  • 121. The Russian Version Obj 430U will render the 121 useless. They are pretty much exactly the same, just that the 430U as significantly better armor. Ofc the armor doesnt count for much on the testserver, but on the live servers any lower tier will ONLY be able to penetrate the lower plate. So good luck.
  • E50m. Always was kinda outdated, never super strong, but that tank will lose it all to the 430U. The selling point of the E50m always was the "strong" armor. 430U has better armor and the guns are pretty mucht the same.
  • There will be more tanks useless after the update and the powercreep but these are the tanks which came to my mind without actively looking for other powercreeped tanks.

About the tanks themselfs:

Object 705A

Its another MinMax tank like all the latest additions to the game. It will rule supreme when sidescraping, Immune to all non premium rounds and maybe some high pen TD premium rounds will penetrate that turret. Its kinda slow, however that turret rotation is from another planet. Good luck circling that thing when the turret rotates so fast.

On open ground its not the toughest opponent. It has the same weaknesses like the IS7 has. Lower plate is effective but not against decent penetration, side armor is only really strong above the tracks. The second its a bit overangled it can be easily penetrated through the drivewheel with AP or APCR. Overall another MinMax tank, not good for the gameplay, while not necessairly OP.

The gun seems to be balanced, HOWEVER the softstats (gunhandling) are WAY WAY WAY to good for such a tank. That would need some serious nerfing: Aimtime needs to be increased, and such a tank DOES NOT NEED medium tank gun handling.

Object 430U

Most likely it will be a godlike random stomper. The armor is strong enough to reliable bounce all non premium rounds - lower plate is bad, but if you cannot hide that, you dont deserve to play tier 10 properly anyway. AS said before it will be a dark day for the 121 and 113. It combines the good aspects of both tanks into 1. 113 armor and 121 gun. So yeah... Another tank to the collection of tier 8 and 9 tanks stompers. I cannot see lower tiered tanks ever being able to deal with that at all. And against tier 10 its still more than decent. Well angeled even premium rounds will struggle.

Object 268 Version 4

I only played against it. The one thing I instaly noticed is that not the entire lower plate is a weakspot. Only a tiny fraction is. Its going to be an RNG tank, exactly what was needed. Remember the HD lower plate of the E5? Half the shots randomly bounced for whatever reason? Same will happen with that new tank. However I am not even sure if gold rounds will change that.

Long story short:

Are these tanks needed? Hell no!

Do they add something new? Hell no!

Are they completly OP? No!

Are they good for the gameplay? Hell no! (MinMax tanks)

Do they powercreep? Hell yes!

Will players who can shoot gold rounds at free will have a MAJOR advantage over the rest? Hell yes they will!

Can tier 8 tanks just roll over and die? Hell yes!

I love my E50M and 113 and this makes me sad. But i did not expect anything else in regards to balance from this rotten Company.

Just WG seems to ignore it...

By your description it sounds like you are calling the IS7 min max?

Well. wont be home to try out the new tonks on CT due to work, but just looking at the super test stats I'm not surprised at all.

All I can say is that WG have pretty much learned nothing and adding in HD maps wont change any thing. Same corridor maps with super heavies with no brains spamming prem ammo and getting free XP for f..ing tier 8's in the arse.

So unless WG drastically change the map designs in HD, then I cant see this game going any where but the inevitable drain circling cranked up to fifth gear.

Game play wont get any better just because you polish a turd with some HD eye candy.

Is it not? IS7 is pretty much go hulldown or go home. Well against gold rounds at the very least.

And what about T44, more buff is test ? We have tanks like T34-2, Panther 2, TVP VTU, but well, T44 need more buffs.

Good turret, good alpha, frontal armour will still troll prem rounds, black hole side armour, goes 60, hp/ton is decent these days and gun handling is actually pretty good for 490 alpha. (has better dispersion than several meds)

I wouldn't call it min/max, seems an odd description for a heavy tank that is a brutal brawler, a great bully tank, is able to rush positions and keep up with meds, can spot for itself, trade ok and manages to inexplicably survive situations most tanks wouldn't.  That is not even counting the invincible turret and 6 degrees of depression that enables it to hull down.

IS7 is pretty versatile IMO, what can't it do?

I'm at work right now so can't test for myself... Does the Object 430U make the 907 redundant?

Or does the 907s different play style keep it top spot for tier 10 meds?

430u make 121 pointless, and "armor" of E50m can go and, you know.

Well Not really. The 907 has the cowdung sidearmor and still the RNG bounce front.

430U has the turret armor and the reliable upper plate armor in return.

Gun wise they should be the same so to say. One get low alpha but APCR as standard and better DPM (Not that that matters AT ALL) the other gets the better alpha however AP (slow projectile speed).

So yeah I honestly dont know which of them might be the better one. Its a weird one but maybe the 907 is still a tiny bit better since the RNG armor can bounce even HEAT from the JPE100 while the 430U wont ever do that.

But in the end I guess they are going to be very close. I guess you will only see that on the live servers. I might even prefere the 430U due to the more predictable armor and higher alpha.
