Do you. I certainly don't, in fact I when I get asked what game I play I just say I don't play any at all lol. It's bad enough the games name sounds like it was made for 12 year olds "world of tanks", yikes, and the game is generally considered second tier trash with a reputation of greediness and pay2win.

My mate recommended WoT to me many years ago. I've never forgiven him for the stress he's opened me up to.

So of course I recommend it to others.

Misery loves company.

I tell people to stay far away from this game actually. If they decide to play anyway, they'll meet with "low tier balance" and give up. So I will save them from that inconvenience.

Seriously, low tiers (2-5) are so incredibly unfun...

I have done in the past, not many of them play it any more. Like all games it has a lifespan with players, it seems that a hell of a lot of salty bitter people carry on playing this game when they'd be better moving on to pastures new though...

If people ask me about this game, I simply explain the issues it has and then tell them to try it out. Simples.

Two of my friends did that but left quite quickly.

I wouldn't mainly because I would then feel obliged to platoon with them and they would be awful at the game. When I had XVM installed you would see fail platoons all the time with a green/blue player with a red or prior to the platoon fix a red t8 with a red t5, cos they want to play with their best tanks without any perception of the issue they introduce to the balance of a match.

why don't you get lost then if you are not prepared to tell people you like it and play it and if you think so little of it you obviously don't like it so get lost go play something else, instead of coming into the forums and making negative threads against the game.

I always just tell people i like it and play it, the player base can be total prats, just try it and see if you like it.

And who are you to tell him what he should be saying to his friends?? And where did you see its negative thread? Op asked simple question, its not on you to dictate what he should be thinking or saying.

Having come to WoT from Eve online, I did recommend this to my former Corp mates. Three came her and stayed a while.

I'm the only one still playing. But thank fully I'm a bit burned out at the moment after Xmas. Played no games last week. Played 4 on Saturday just gone.  Rage quit.

Cant recommend this to my gamer friends, they would end up hating me. Even after the recent adverts on TV. I get asked, "is that worth it"...

"No" I reply. "Go back your EA pile of dog shlt.... "

Couple of years ago I would have recommended WoT to any of my friends but in it's current state and with the direction it's heading in:

- Overbuffed armour.

- Compulsory goldspam in higher tiers to remain competitive.

- Broken / Overpowered premium tanks.

- Compulsory XP sinks in all new lines designed to be free-XP'ed.

- Lack of long term vision on the developers part (long term vision for a good game for the player)

I will no longer recommend WoT to anyone, it's just not worth it at the moment with the direction it's heading in.

Myself and friends used to play this game as it was better years ago and recommended it back then. Since WG got greedy with P2W tanks and brought in too much power creep and unbalanced the game among many other problems my friends quit and we don't talk about WoT anymore. I don't recommend it to anyone either and like you say OP, it's actually quite shameful to admit I still play this game from time to time.

I used to, but actually worried about game future that could be a recommendation which would be a waste of time.
I do try and get a few ex clan mates to come back, but not much success.
The playerbase is as important as the game and both have took a hit.

Generally considered by whom?

Personally, if asked by anyone I answere honestly that I play WoT and that I enjoy it. If asked would I recommend it, Again I answer honestly, that they could try it and see what they think. Some games appeal to one person but not to another. I will explain how I see the game working, and also that others view it differently, and that the game is certainly not perfect. What I would not do is to try and discourage someone from trying it, or even deny playing it, when actively doing so. But then, if I was to stop playing it, I would also stop reading and contributing to the forum.

It seems, sometimes, that some people, although still playing the game, or in some instances no longer playing, feel it is their duty to save others from the game, almost as if they want to see it fail. What do they gain from that I wonder? Maybe some perverse pleasure in seeing something or someone fail. Does that make them feel better about themselves? Do they derive some satisfaction from that? Does it show any degree of maturity? It makes me feel sad for them, and for a society that seems to be disintigrating if that is deemed to be acceptable behaviour.

Nope. Unless I want to be an utter jerk to someone, then I will recommend it.

The game is heading to direction where it's kinda hard to recommend it for a new player. There won't be many new players who will actually enjoy playing this game; only old ones will get actual enjoyment out of it.

No, the game IS free to play, but it is becoming more and more pay to enjoy with every patch they release. Greedygaming
