So I've been doing personal missions, I'm now on the Object 260 and have been for a rather long time.

 

One of the reasons is the fact that Mission 2 in the Tank Destroyer portion will not complete, despite me fulfilling the primary condition several times.

 

The primary conditions are: 

  • Cause 5000 damage
  • Destroy 3 internal modules or injure crew members, totaling at least 3 modules or crew members

 

I have many times fulfilled these requirements, I even have a small library now of replays because I was getting very frustrated:

 

I don't mind missions being very fickle but I mind when I fulfill them and they don't get counted, repeatedly

 

EDIT: Modules need to be destroyed - not damaged. Thanks for clarification.

Well first three great games, but secondly in neither of these 3 did you destroy 3 internal modules or crew members. Remember they have to be red in the result screen not yellow

In the WZ game you destroyed (red) 1 gunner and 1 fuel tank. Furthermore you damaged  (yellow) 5 modules

in the strv game you destroyed 1 driver and 1 radio operator and damaged 1 engine

in the FV game you destroyed 1 commander and 1 driver and damaged 4 other modules.

I think in your case you just damaged the modules, you didn't destroy them. A damaged module will appear in yellow colour when you see the post game stats, whereas a destroyed module will appear in red. Having this in mind you didn't complete the mission as the mission clearly states to destroy, not damage modules or injure crew members.

 

Hope this clears it out for you! Gl in your future attempts, I am sure that when you pull off the dmg you will pull off the other part of the mission. You just have been a bit unlucky ! :)

Have to keep trying for good damage and hoping for RNG module hits.

Thank you for the explanation on the difference between yellow and red. So at least I'm just being screwed by RNG on modules...

Gotta love missions relying on arbitrary conditions and/or RNGesus. Slap on some map- and team-dependant parameters for the maximum experience.

 

Might be a job for hitskins (yeah, I know), the 'deadeye' perk and the 103B. That should give you a 36% chance to injure a crew member you hit. The firing rate on the 103B should be enough to distribute shots as needed.

I suspect that the mechanics for HESH (i.e. HE penetrations) lead to them being less effective for destroying modules and crew - though judging from the times arty rolls <100 damage and kills two crew members it's more down to chance.

I did it on my 2-3 game in the Deathstar, loaded the HESH spammed it all game long,  got it with honors.

Probably the Shitbarn  or the Conway can do it just as easy.
