I see and hear how 1.0 will bring alot of new players. But will it ? And how ? And with the graphic options does that mean i wont play the game ? Like i use the SD cliend on low and get stead 40-50 FPS ?

What do you think on these questions ?

1st...the graphic changes in 1.0 can be turned off so it would look exactly like it is now and work the same
2nd...sd client?? On low?? 40fps?? Your pc is begging you to kill it.

I'd say it will , mostly because WG does actually a pretty good job at advertising their games, and i have no doubt they will put up a massive ad campaign once it's close to being relased.

Has point 1 been proven yet? I doubt very much it will be exactly the same.

As for it bringing new players, I think it will bring back old players to have another look more than anything. The game has been that heavily advertised anyone that was going to try the game probably already has.

Of course it will. It's a big update and they most likely will put lots of money into ads.
Just look at how many players the events every year attract, e.g. christmas.

The real question is: Will they stay? And will they buy hightier premtanks right away to ruin the game some more?

Well...they said you will be able to turn them off...and since they will change the engine to an improved one that's not made as a joke...it should play at least the same if not better.

It won't because Wargaming is still using the same old broken game mechanics that pissed off all the players that left and they've pretty much saturated the audience they could already get with this type of game.

People will come back for sure which will cause a relatively short surge in player numbers but once those players discover the game is still the same mess that pissed them off in the first place, they'll leave again.

We will still have overbuffed armour, too much RNG, broken classes designed for bad players, bad map design favouring heavy armour etc. etc.

Probably the only way to make them keep playing considering how screwed-up low tiers are now.

I think it will bring back old players more then bring completely new players. The maps will drasticly change on top of the destructable enviroment which will create a new way of gameplay.

It will bring a peak of players for like a month, then the player numbers are back to a slowly decreasing population again.

The maps wills drastically visually indeed but each will still have roughly 3 corridors where all the fighting will be and the rest will be open no-mans-land.

On top of that, what I saw on the Sandbox, Wargaming has added some nice long range sniping positions near base for all the TD's to hide and dominate flanks just out of viewrange of those doing the actual fighting.

It won't get better, don't bother hoping for that.

WTF? ????????

It more and more looks like WG is trying to kill their own game with these kind of retarded changes.

Take Steppes. On of my more liked maps, and it is even a good TD map if you know what you do. And it DOESN'T have stupidly powerful TD hills covering the base and a flank behind bushes and hulldown from an elevated position which is unflankable.

Inserting corners a la Fisherman's bay, Mines, Pilsen (left most corridor), Paris (top of map), Charkov (top of map) etc is stupid.

Corners that covers a large open area, is covered with bushes and has hard cover (hulldown/rock/house) while the guys approaching have 0 cover is a stupid idea.

Nah, driving around seeing how much stuff you can get piled on top of your tank is more fun.

I foresee a competition for longest hay bale ride.

I remember watching cookiebaby's stream when he was testing out the maps, and  on sand river he went and turned all his settings to potato and it looked very, very close to what the current wot with low settings looks like, and also he got like 500 fps with his computer (i7-processor and a gtx 980 I believe).

Yes there has been quite a lot of advertising on TV here in the UK recently.Which also might bring in a lot of new players, as we all know this can be a mixed blessing..although i sense some seal-clubbing might be in order :)

On a side note apparently anything above 60-70 fps is undetectable to the human eye, or so I've been told?
