Obj 257 Side nerfed!

Obj 257 side armour has been nerfed down from 65mm  thick to 40mm thick on the latest test server. And the part above the angled side nerfed from 140 to 130.

Meaning it is not as ridiculous as before and actually has the possibility to be penned and tracked and penned in the side unlike before. Infact it means alot of the higher tier heavy tanks and TD's can overmatch it. Even tier 7 tanks like the IS can overmatch the sides now. Now if only they could listen about the 263 changes :sceptic:

 

Also, seems like armour on the 26A v 4 hull has been buffed by 10mm and the 705A front hull by 5mm. Not big changes but seems rather unneeded.

Well its still autobounce, so its still retraded. And that you suddenly can overmatch the side with a 175 penetration gun, but cant harm it with 270mm is just absolute [edited].

Yet hitting 20mm + 40mm of armor = absorbed.

 

Hitting a German tank would penetrate and cause either a damaged ammo rack or an engine fire -.-

 

Edit: Obviously 290mm LFP armor was too weak.

Well at least the 183 can overmatch it with AP now. But I also notice the hidden hitboxes under it has been removed. So you don't magically bounce when you can pen it. As there is spaced armor in the way, you could not see between the tracks.

 

Also the 705 stock turret is fixed. As in it don't have 300mm armor for all angles anymore. Still not easy to pen head on for most.

Still the exact same armor and unpenetrable for most mediums and heavys with a 120mm gun.

now it at least cant side scrape against 122mm+ guns anymore.. wait, isnt that kind of useful when driving a heavy? WG says no? ok nevermind

A tank like this can never be balanced properly. But it still is progress, even if it is small.

I like how the 268 v4 weak LFP is at an auto-bounce angle. And now even 340 HEAT can't go through the ULP,that's what I call balance.

It's to encourage people to free XP grind the line before they nerf it.

But to me it looks as if HEAT will rather easily go through the upper plate, the super structure and the range finder, so...?

Not sure what kind of heat you are talking about, but most heavy and med heat will  not pen the hull. And the superstructure is like a 40% chance to pen when the tank isnt angled at all, whe nhe angles, you cant pen at all.

As someone on WOTlabs said, now a KV-3 will be more threatening to this tank than a Super Conqueror. Makes sense, top balancing.

I think it will be another worthless junk. i'm 100% against T10 having its own line, unless the new tier 10 tank, that comes after T10 is something truelly amazing.

wondering what can come after t10... next level tanks usually have better armor/mobility and firepower. So... even faster is7 with t10 gun, but bit improved stats? Sounds balanced.... :trollface:  :popcorn:  :trollface:

I POINTED a lot of time OVERMATCH as it is now in game don't work. Derp soviet 122 mm gun is far superior in overmatch then superior 120 mm gun on both M103 and Conqueror, REASON is simple, 2 mm difference in gun caliber !!. 

Mechanic should work different: for example; IF you shell have enough "muzzle/kinetic energy of projectile" then 40 mm armor under 70 degree can HOLD then you pen

Kinetic energy of M58 120 mm gun was FAR superior to DT 25 T 122 mm gun. BUT in this game, 122 will overmatch 40 mm and 120 WONT. [edited].

I'm pissed off because of this nerf. Again, half the community started crying because this tank is actually strong. It was easy to kill, so I don't get the constant crying about it

In which case it no longer has anything to do with overmatch, as that is purely an armor thickness vs projectile diameter ratio. Granted, the implementation in WoT is rather silly but at least it still takes into consideration thickness vs diameter.

This is not enough, we need weakspots, not overally weaker armor, when it's still op.

M58 120 mm gun bounce that armor every time he shoot. 

What the difference between those guns in game. US gun have better dmg, better pen, better eveything. HE have 2mm less caliber. - AND THAT DECIDE that US gun dont overmatch 40 mm of armor. 

^^ This is better mechanic ? I don't think so.
