Type 64

Incase you have somehow missed it - it's possibly one of the 'top 10' most useful premium tanks of all time. + It's available to everyone in the in-game shop which is a large bonus! You can use it in SH / TB / Even decent in randoms. Can be either a great credit machine or a great wn8 booster. 10/10 recommend to get it. (by buying it in-game of course)

Spoiler

While it is true that it's a really good light tank, it's been available forever and people who needed/wanted it already have it by now.

Since all these offers in this special announcement are in-game I'm hoping that Tomorrow they'll put up premium shop specials.

Next patch they're removing FCM 50t from the in-game shop, that's why it's a good idea to buy type64 for those who haven't done it yet! - They might try to remove type64 too soon. No tank is safe from WG!

Other changes

  • With the release of Update 9.22, the FCM 50 t will be removed from the in-game store.

That tank is absolutely garbage indeed but as I said in my thread:

"Having said that, I will most probably pick it up if the price is right (around the T92 price) since light tanks are the only class I pretty much play nowadays if I'm not grinding personal missions.

I know it's not the tank it should be and in all honesty it's not a good tank but if I had to choose to but this or the Defender I'd go for the EVEN90 because that one at least doesn't have a detrimental effect on the game in general.

It's underpowered rather than broken/overpowered which is always better for everyone."

I am afraid this logic is flawed in my mind. Driving an OP tank may be detrimental in helping yourself to win. Driving an UP tank may well have just the opposite effect in punishing your teammates. If you think this is justified, why not always challenge yourself by putting 50% crew in your tanks?

-Type 64 is almost useless at spotting: too big, too sluggish (at low speed), too low HP pool, tier 6 MM (because tier 8 scouts and enemies). Only good thing is view range, useful mainly on very open maps again stupid enemies (u know, that e1 bush in prokhorovka).

-Type 64 is useless as dmg dealer: lolpen, slow shell, bad premium shell.

Cromwell B is a way better spotter and dmg dealer (even if it has crap gun handling), it can snipe, ramming monster, more HP, more armor.

LOL, I cant stop from laughing, this event is so foch-ed up. Scouting in weekend is like having a concert and sell tickets only to deaf people.

If only the Type-64 came with a 100% + BiA +1  crew  just for this "event"....

Would have been nice if they had changed the map rotation for the weekend to make it more like tank friendly. I love playing light tanks but the number of maps you can really use their strengths on is low and those maps don't seem to come up in the rotation as often as the dreaded (for me anyway) Kharkov or Paris or Pilsen. For me tweaking the map rotation for the weekend would have been a better incentive for light tank players than 2x crew xp.

Also a shame that Type 62 or AMX13-57 aren't on sale, given that the Grand Finals Bulldog was in the advent calendar I thought we might see one or both of those on sale this weekend.

Cheers

Rat

Little to get excited about and little to complain about just the usual smaller type of event.

The 5th such event this month but then everything seems smaller after a major event like the Christmas one.

They could have put one of the rare light tanks up for sale or even all of them.

As for why they decided to sell the Chinese premium TD during a light tank event I have no idea any of the premium light tanks would seem more suitable.

Type 64 is a very capable light but I think the amx 13-57 would have opened a lot more wallets.

edit

Well its better than the NA event they get to buy the ELC even 90 for £23-86

Oh, that changes things. Didn't know that.

Guess he could bypass the system by purchasing a tank that he already got which means that he would get its gold value instead.

Discounts on 5-7's.... unimpressive for something advertised for the entire month in the look forward. Oh well I was was holding off doing the T-54 Lwt and T-100 LT grind as already have up to the LTTB done so guess no rush there.

I've held off several light tank purchases and grinds for 4 weeks since this 'special' was announced to play LT's this weekend.

But its sooo underpowered for a special that I think I will skip it.

Looks at his Type 64's 62.61% and Radley Walters. Yeah its terrible no one should buy it.

*facepalm*

Yes, you can do that. Edit: Just did the calculation again and I found that I made a stupid mistake in my initial calculation , so yes, it is actually possible to save money there if you really need gold.

The best deal with those new vouchers imho is to buy large bundles of premium time. If you take the 360 day package and use the voucher, you end up paying less than 60 Euros for 360 days, i.e. less than 5 Euros per month, which to be fair is very little. Not that I did that, of course. My days of paying money for this game are largely over.

The Type 64 is the very first premium tank I bought ... and I never regret for that.

Type 64 is far one of the very best tanks, buy it, learn how to scout and you will never run out of credits.

I love that "One Hit Bucket" ...

I also disagree (like many others here). The Type is actually a very good scout, and with Wargaming's silly overhaul of scout tanks it only got better. Even better, it is fun (!) to play. Definitely one of the best premium tanks that are available for gold. Which admittedly isn't saying much these days, because most of them have been powercreeped into oblivion.

Several of my clan mates have recently started playing WoWPs.

I've just activated 4 bonus codes ... so this w/e might be a good time to actually download the game and play my very first game.

Not sure how I'm going to side scrape off a cloud mind you
