Don't know about other peoples experience, but in my humble opinion O-I is an unplayable tank. It's just TOO bad at everything.

Too slow speed...

Too slow turret moving...

Too slow loading...

Too slow at aiming...

God forbids you have to go backward, or if you dare to follow other "proper" tanks. Stay aaaaall the way back, and you are "camper"... "tomato"... ****... well you get it...

That formidable armor they were speaking of worth "peanuts" when you play with tier VIII.

For example - I played a three minute game and did't actually do anything really wrong. It's just that the game through me too far away and I couldn't get away fast enough. I got hit by arty two times (!), lost more than half my HP, and then a tier VIII simply got through our ranks and killed me... I fired 1 shot with HE for two or three hundred dmg and that's it. No time to reload... Same thing would be if I decided to go in some other direction.

Could you please tell me your experience and if you think "someone" should do something about it.

P.S. Oh yes, I DON'T LIKE to skip tanks... thank you very much...

Fun tank. Play it in platoon with a couple of clanmates and its a laugh a minute. Ok, when it see T8 it can struglle, but that applies to most tanks when meeting +2 tiers. Played in platoon, with each player covering his mates, it can be awesome, Lots of "Boom", " Thank you, come again" moments.

I have no sympathy for any tank with a stupid derp gun.

If anything i hope it is unplayable to put people off that line and grinding to the fuckin retarded type 5

1) Never go alone to anywhere. The reload is too long and the HP pool, while high, is not really all that high for that massive, slow tank. Also the tier 6s have that good DPM vs HP to the point where you can die before you reload.

2) Always have a cover where you can go to reload and also hide from arty.

3) Focus on targets where you do most damage. One HE pen deals so much damage that it's almost a decent game by that alone.

4) Don't rush the shots. Fully aim and most of time aim at the center mass to make sure you dont miss. Generally with derps you can aim to places where it deals the most damage, but the O-I has so bad reload + accuracy that you just want to aim to center mass most of the time.

5) Don't overrely on your armor. Do not do unnecessary peeks. Dont poke if multiple enemies are aiming at you. If there is only 1 enemy, you can trade him by poking and then going to cover to reload.

6) When bottom tier, just follow a higher tier HT and let him take hits. When enemies are reloading and/or not focusing you, then you poke and shoot at the best target.

7) Fire AP when in a very good matchup, otherwise just spam HE

8) Having a good crew and full equipment loadout is a massive help for this tank.

The O-I is still a stupidly strong tier 6. It is far from unplayable, although it can be frustrating at times. It's just not an utter destroyer of worlds like it used to be.

You're bad at everything. Seriously if you think this tank is unplayable you need to play better. O-I is not as broken as it was but it's still easymode. Also what Legga said.

Eh shiet it was me to vote yes but actually meant no.. Misunderstood the question, sorry :D

It is common thing that arty will shoot the tier 6 tank in a tier 8 match. No matter whatit is.

And yes, that “speed” makes can make you 0 dmg matches when your team steamrolles the enemy. But once you get top tier match it is awesome fun. I only had good matches as top, also as non-top, once even best in exp earned in tier 8 battle.

It is worth it

Thank you all for input.

BTW, I know it's beyond the point, but I just played 10 games with O-I and got 5 tier VIII games, 3 tier VII games and 2 games where I was top tier.

I was very "shy" in my last tier VIII game and managed 1.7 k dmg (and survive), but I still claim it's very hard to enjoy playing this tank...

It's probably me!!!

:amazed:

this is the average WOT player,

drives a KV-2 with armor,

still...

finds something to complain about .

Tomorrow's thread will be, is Maus under-powered?

I don't care how balanced or not these tanks are now, when ever I see any Jap HT I load premium ammo regardless if I need it or not and I know I'm not alone doing that.

I hate them, and O-Ni is even worse, they are like fat Swedish Lagos

which is odd because statistically I seemed to do well in the O-I Exp and the type 95, but they were not enjoyable to play either

The O-I tanks bring entire teams to a halt. If you aren't terrifying and frustrating the enemy, you need to watch some videos/replays.

Too slow? Here's a hint....SUPERHEAVY TANK!!! with a STUPID DERP GUN!!!...this thing should not even be in the game...tanks that most same tier tanks need gold to pen it and they don't need to even aim to deal a shitload of damage...they are all from tier 6 upwards BROKEN!

Did you get the same O-I as the rest of us? I mean I would get it if you said the tier 7 or 8 Jap HT that really suck 9 out 10 games. But the tier 6 is arguably one of the more solid tanks on that line. Slow sure, but still strong even in + 2 with that gun. In fact I've never gotten an Ace in it as top tier. It's the only tier 6 I have that I've only gotten ace games in +2. As it's so easy to farm damage on some maps in a support role vs top tier.

Give it 1400 Alpha Premium HE Gun at t6, the game is fucked up so much already why not push it to the limit?

Wholly unnecessary and a frankly idiotic waste of credits. I approve. Have a +1.

Bottom tier on Prokorovka with 3 arty per side it is indeed all but unplayable. That's the chance you take. Top tier on a city map is a different matter. Personally, I use the 100mm not the derp. What exactly is wrong with 175mm pen and 300 alpha at T6? 5 secs is a much more workable reload as well.

There is no way to speed the tank up, but the other three points could often be addressed by looking at the mini map in anticipation of where you want to point the turret, and where you want to time your reload and aim. Playing against the better players in the super heavy tanks and you see they already have a plan and are ready, playing against the poor players and you see they blunder into situations thinking the armour will protect them while they take time to compose themselves.
