¿Ever had the target covering all aim and missed?.... ¿Is this happeing to you often lately?,

In this replay, at minute 10.48-38 I fully aim a T34 85 at one meter distance, but...

Happened other times since Christmas, but this one...

doesnt impossible mean it will never happen? Yet this happened? starting to think you either dont know what impossible means or that its not impossible :hiding:

Not gonna watch the replay. My guess is its a ghost shell, pretty rare, but iirc caused sometimes by lag, etc

I suspect that the shot arced over the back of the enemy tank, just missing the turret, because you can see it explode on the train wagon behind,

Slypsy, that is what it must have made, but then it went OUT of the aim circle. It remembers me the infamous arty bug from some years ago. Anyway, it is happenning to me very rarely, not as in that times.

Yesterday i was sat next to an 0-ho with the 15cm .54 disp gun shooting the same tanks they fired something like 12 shots and hit 6,

i was in my super accurate lowe with its .33 disp gun fired something like 18 shots and hit 9 with a 5+1 crew all trained to 121% except commander of course,

so both tanks despite differences in dispersion .54 to .33 only hit with half their shots,

i'm seriously starting to think something is screwed up with RNG.

Distance was 1 meter eh? I wonder what the actual distance will be watching the replay... Which you yourself did as well of course. Right?

Edit: So actual distance is 14 meters and while hard to see (can't do any proper zooming with vanilla client on SPG) as far as I can tell your aim circle is slightly higher that the T-34-85 turret and also not covered on the right side for a small part. I would say you just got extremely unlucky with the shot dispersing to the edge of the aim circle.

Thx to OBS, replay at slow motion. Pause at 36, play/pause clicking. At almost end of period between 38'00 and 39'00, reticle closes. Given impact point, I am right. Should have hit the tank.

far as I'm concerned it is lag between your PC and the server. If you download Aslains mods and install the SPG aim mod the server circle is far larger than the PC one, and takes longer to shrink. That means the server thinks your not fully aimed and your chance to miss far higher than you think.

Now I've seen it, I know why so many SPG shots went wide of the mark. You don't see that visual discrepancy on regular tanks, but it must also be there too.

As far as I remember there is (or used to be) about 5% chance shot will go outside of aiming circle - what you see doesn't cover it all.

You made a snapshot after turning a corner, in 3rd person view, with arty, and expect to hit.

Nope.  Shots cannot hit outside the circle.

However the circle you see might not match what the server thinks.  Snapshots after turning a corner are always a gamble.

The random deviation of shots is a 'normal distribution'.

The aimcircle size is 2 standard deviation.

So 2.2% of all shots will fall outside.

Any shots falling outside get a 2nd roll with a flat distribution.

Remember the graphics and the maths are 2 different things, what you see is not what happened in the game.

Quite right, but given the impact point it is a wide difference to me. But I must admit, it can be part of the game, however, if you link it with the falling bullets (bullets that fall before target), the thing gets weird.

Here is a battle in my Leo that went a bit too far to my taste. I shot at a T29, and it was as it had Star Trek shields, as all bullets fell before ( I was not pretending to pen his turret, but force him to abandon the spot). Then he moved away and I decided to make a test in mid battle, repeating the shooting to same position.... Look at the difference, and look what happened when I shot other targets (I managed more hits before got wiped out). Feel free to get your conclusions.

Also, those are records before Encore. I have not used OBS in a long time.

Most important, do not get me wrong, I LOVE this game. Play since 2011, even more as I do play Total War, and feel is the most fair multiplayer out there. I wish player base would increase.

All well within the aim circle.  And since you were aiming at the hull and the hull was behind a rock you should expect to hit the rock.

I gently disagree. See were crosshair is, see whereabouts in the aim circle bullets go.

You're wrong. All of those first shots may have fallen low but every one would have hit the T29 had he not been behind a rock. The second set of shots you were aimed at the sky box which tends to throw your shots a little high as the aim adjustment gets confused but even so every single shot you took still landed within your aim circle.
