i get massive fps drops from 120 to 15 in some area of some maps. i figured it's because of xvm. i use the protanki modpack. whenever i use the xvm mod with all the xvm in garage functions it makes my game lag only in SOME areas of some maps. and it always happens on the same maps. i'm gonna attach a replay so you guys can see and maybe tell me a possible fix other than removing the modpack, since i'm very used to is. this issues started happening in 9.17. http://wotreplays.eu...eavy_tank_no_vi

Simple fix start in safe mode and try it see if you get the same problems.

Could be Windows is doing "something" in background but if occurs on the same areas of map all the time then seems as though not.

If all you use is the XVM bit, then why have the MOD pack in the first place? In any case, run the game in Safe Mode (so without MODs) or even uninstall the whole pack (plus residual files) to check if indeed XVM is causing the issue. If so, I would recommend getting the latest XVM version only and run the game with that to see if it resolves the issue.

If it doesn't, more likely hardware related (or driver issue) in which case we will need detailed information on your setup.

i already know that the game runs good without xvm, i'm just trying to figure out WHY xvm is causing the lag. i already tried to reinsall all of the mods, and also tried them on my laptop but xvm is causing that issue on my laptop too :\ it's may be that the modpack is broken but it seems wierd to me because it's used by so many people

Hmm, I would suggest getting stand-alone version of XVM and running the game with that. If all is fine, put the MOD pack back in (without XVM obviously).

do you have any idea where i can find those mods? keep in mind that all of those are linked to xvm, if xvm doesn't work they don't work either

Poo! I don't use any MODs myself so no idea where one could find those, or even if they can even be installed separately. I guess with the MOD pack installer you can only tick those if you first tick XVM itself for installation? Regardless, I would first try to install a stand-alone version of XVM to see if that eliminates the issue. If so, try to contact the creator of the MOD pack and inform them about the issue with the XVM version in the pack. Perhaps it simply needs an update.

If you find you can't live without mods or XVM try Aslains mod pack, it's good the choices are immense. Used to use it a long time ago but WoT implemented the mods I used so mod free now.

While we are on the subject, any thoughts on Vsync and triple buffering?

Supposedly (I am technically challenged) enabling Vsync locks your fps to some specific rate (60) and theoretically makes the game run more stable.

all v-sync does is create massive input lag and locks makes the gpu output less fps to sync it with the monitor.

You mean it's a 100% bad idea? Are there any situations where it's worth considering?

nowdays no, since there is g-sync and freesync, back in the day it could be considered if someone was having issues with screen tearing

It won't prevent such massive drops in FPS though. In fact, running VSync is exactly how one could end up with drops from 60 FPS (with a 60 Hz refresh rate display obviously), to 30 FPS, to 20 FPS, to 15 FPS.

Does not change the fact the issue is most likely on your end, or the connection in between your system and the server. Posting about perceived issues without any meaningful information, and instantly pointing at the other end, is just a waste of time for anyone willing to help. In such cases you might as well not post about it at all.
