It matters because quite a number of the Chinese camo patterns are transparent, meaning you’ll still see the base color even if you apply camo.

Just paint the tank if you really can't live without those semi-transparent camo.

It's not hard to make a "mod" that changes the base colour. Simple matter of extracting the relevant files from C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\res\packages\vehicles_level_06.pkg and changing the colours in Paint.net. Might need a bit of work due to overlays and whatnot.

Took me literally two minutes to make my Blackdog darker, for instance. However, you'd have to care enough to find the real base colour (I can't be arsed) - and it's still the small matter of a ROC tank using PRC camo patterns.

It would indeed not be that hard. Paint.NET With maybe a plug-in or two, the correct dds files and maybe Blender to make not overlaying stuff like the turret MG With the new colour and bam, job done.

You should always be sceptical of modern 'restorations' where it looks like the janitor has been given a tin of Dulux and told to paint anything that looks like a tank. If in doubt look how badly they treated rare tanks at the US Aberdeen Proving Ground museum.

Well quite, with a good example being the caunter scheme.

You can't. It's not a tier8 premium or tier 10 tank.
