I am surprised that Wargaming are not doing more to push and develop this game. I've been playing it since Christmas and it's great fun.

The game is bugged and crashes occasionally. It's very easy to play and free XP from Tanks does transfer and vice versa. In fact free XP is quicker and easier to generate in Planes.

I'd be interested to see if mods block this post considering it is under the WG umbrella.

The game badly needs money, players and more development but seriously it really is a good game. I've played nearly 40K battles in Tanks and I'm a little burned out with MM, Gold Ammo and corridor maps. I'l be back when HD maps kick in. I'm frustrated with Planes because of lack of support and little or no moderation on the forums but the game is fun and addictive.

I believe these codes are still active if you want free planes etc

UPDATE 26.12.

WoWP is fun... I have a few hundred flights in it and my clan has a few active members.  Premium account, Gold, and Free XP float between the two and that is a nice feature.

It's fun, and more fun vs before. But short fun. As in 2-3 battles now and then is enough tbh. And that's still the issue. As that's how most still feel about the game. It's not that most don't know about the game. They do. It's just that most still feel it's short fun, and nothing more. A part of it for me is actually since most of the planes you face are AI. As on the tiers I play, it's 1-4 players on each team. And you don't face them to often unless you go to the common middle area late game.

It's easier as they have the XP increase. And it's easier to get higher up as you fight vs AI more so then human players. Battles last way longer tho usually on average vs WOT. So on in the long run it won't be that much faster.

Well I'm glad some people find it fun. But WOT's fault aside, I still can't be bothered to play more then a few games on WOWP Gold ammo is on WOWP to. But since most of the planes you fight are AI. It's less seen, and thus less of an issue. But still.. most still use it for the gold reward missions. As incendiary = easier damage vs most targets.

Gold ammo in planes is crap. I've used it, you get some free when you buy a premium plane. Universal ammo is the way to go.

Both Clean and I have well over 30,000 battles on WoT and obviously love the game. As you said, even if it's not your cup of tea, a few games on it can help clear your mind after a bad streak on Tanks.

You are wrong about Gold being a problem, though. It costs real money and I doubt anyone uses it as Universal Ammo seems to be better 80% of the time as Gold is either HE for increased fire % or AP for more critical % whilst Universal covers all your bases.

You have the WWI vibe at low tier with biplanes going through WWII to the Cold War, so there's something for everyone.

It's fun!

No power creep yet.

Oh another code that still works is WARPLANES which gives you a free premium AR67 and Type224 fighters at tier 2 and 3.

I was going to at the start of my mid winter break but you had to use that global launcher and I'm not prepared to do that

Same here.

I downloaded the client two weeks ago then it wanted to instruct me to install the global launcher. Nope. I've read too many bad things about that.

The only reason I play WoT is because there isn't really an alternative to it.

As for planes, there are still better alternatives than World of Warplanes.

Also WG can shove their global launcher where the sun doesnt shine.

People report having loaded it and can't launch WoT or WoWS.  Support lacking.

I've been using the global launcher for a while, the only problem I have with it is when you close it, it minimises itself to the system tray rather than closing completely. Steam pulls the same trick and neither have the option to close the bloody thing when you click the close button.

It's pretty minor as problems go, to be fair.

I played a bit of WoWp back in the day, and it's allright - but I don't really fancy the waiting times. T4 usually takes a couple of minutes. T5 is almost hopeless. Are there any peak times, in case I dare try to play it again?

For what it's worht, WoWp is the only Wargaming game that currently forces use of the launcher, WoT and WoWs don't have to integrate into it.

The launcher is annoying and takes up too much bandwidth. If I don't shut it down while actually playing, I get a noticeable in game performance drop. Also I had a lot of trouble with it with handling multiple servers (specifically EU and NA). Support did help me get that fixed but I've been reluctant to set up NA on this machine just because of that.

I'm using the launcher without any issues.

I really like what WG has done with WoWP, however, until they fix the bug that 'forgets' played games and doesn't give XP or credits, i'm not gonna bother.

Why move this off topic? I deliberately put this thread where most people would see it. It is a Wargaming game!

Is the moderator a Traffic Warden in real life?
