Kind of cool but unfortunately I've got a stack of Revell kits I need to finish first, among them another TypeIX German Submarine of 100cm + length, A Tiger II, a Panther, a AH-64 Apache and a collection of a Spitfire, Hurricane and a Lancaster.

Maybe afterwards.....

Why did you have to partner with Italeri?

They have to be one of the worse model kit companies out there.

I would rather pay that bit extra for either Tamiya or Dragon kits.

You maybe but I’d assume that they’re targeting those that don’t normally build models. For that you want relatively cheap and easy to build. Tamiya can do both with their older kits but Dragon can’t do either. Can you really imagine what would happen if you asked a complete beginner to build a Dragon kit. It’s £50+ so surely it must fit together well and the instructions are going to be perfect?

Not intrseted in old models. Make something inyresting and i will buy it.

Make 1:72 SPIC or somo other tanks who are not in model sales and you will earn some money

As a slight aside, the Crusader and a floating top track. I mean really.

Well, I've taken the liberty of photographing my current submarine collection, top one is the first one I ever made many many years ago, mid one is the second and bottom one I finished a month ago or so. You can probably also see the improvement in painting and weathering :teethhappy:

Top ones are about 100cm and the bottom one is slightly longer.

For the last one I actually collected tons of images of how the U-505 looked when captured and I tried recreating the exact damage and dirt I could discern.

Not really into subs myself but I have toyed with getting the Bronco coastal U-Boat or even Trumpeter’s mammoth 1/48 U-Boat.

These are all the 1/72 Revell kits of the Type VIIC and Type IX subs.

Holy cow, didn't even know there was a 1/48 kit, that is pretty awesome!

It’s ceratinly a bit of a big project considering the amount of work you’ll need to put in to do it justice.

Yeah I'll wait to finish all the other kits first before potentially getting this one.

I have looked at it but what puts me off isn’t the price (if you shop around there’s some good deals to be had) but just how long it will take to build. What I like can change rather rapidly and I fear this one would have the same fate as my Airfix 1/24 Mossie. Then there’s also where to put it. I think it would great on top of the mantle piece, I’m pretty sure my better half would disagree.

These models are overpriced, compared to regular Italeri models. It would have been worth it, if they contained a bonus code for a vehicle, like they used to do. Nowadays there is no good reason to purchase them instead of regular Italeri or some better brand models.
