Maybe you should just free xp 268v4?  (that's the point)

What previous guy said.

WG is adding more and more free XP sinks (turd tanks) in tech trees, with hopes that people use gold to buy their way to high tiers.

It's not worse, it's just different. You get better acceleration and top speed, better premium round, better soft gun stats (less bloom), aim time and i would say slightly better armor than WZ

while WZ has more DPM, better tank traverse, and a smaller aiming circle

Related question - is the WZ worth getting? I've been looking at it but can't shake the notion that it's an up-tiered SU-122-44; I don't play that particularly well and if the WZ is more of the same, I'm not going to get very far with it.

I see it as a down-tiered SU-122-54 with fewer hitpoints and armour that works. Yes, it is worth (and I have not even planned to play the Chinese TD line).

if you dont have Skorpion g then yes. It is like su122-44 on steroids:)

I can't see it like that because I never played the SU-122-54. I started up the line with every intention of getting an Object 263 back when it was a tier X TD but got bogged down playing the SU-85 and have only recently reached the SU-100. The WZ being more accurate and still being mobile with some armour appeals but I think I might be a bit of a sucker for Chinese tanks.

I have a Skorpion G but as above, I'm a bit soft for Chinese tanks and having started playing their TDs recently, I'm intrigued by the prospect of a line that has the same crew positions throughout, including the premium. It also looks different enough to the regular tier 8 to notice the difference when playing it.

It also look a bit like an all-rounder; well-angled frontal armour and good traverse to play as an assault gun when top tier, sneaky and mobile to play as a sniping harasser when bottom tier.

Thanks for the answers! :great:

Now, where did I leave my Defender, I'll need that to trade in ...

OT, but as a side note; elite that SU-100, and keep it. It is one of the few non-premiums I play nowadays. It is pretty much what the ISU used to be, but at tier 6. Even tier 8's fear getting hit with that 122, and since you do not always end up in tier 8 games the 122 is a very potent gun. IN pure tier 6 games you can easily rack up close to 2K dmg, all is takes is 5 hits. If yo land 2 pens during a fight you have done more than your own HP.

I have about 500 battles in mine and heres my verdict

- can carry its weight in terrible matchups due to 248/310 pen on

- absolutely murders Tier 6 and 7 tanks, lucky individuals will get lucky and pen your LFP every single time

- high caliber gun hits should be avoided. 128,130,150,152,155mm guns hitting your sides (insta ammo rack) or hitting your frontal hull (instant engine fire) so caution when choosing brawling targets is necessary

- armor is inconsistent, sometimes 175 pen guns go through your UFP, sometimes you bounce SConqueror APCR and 340 heat

- mobility is best in class, lights can't circle you unless on very soft terrain

- 3200 dpm in optimal setup

- absolutely terrible aim time & dispersion values (2.78 base aim, 0.19/0.19/0.15) - you really do need to aim for 3 seconds from a full stop

- crazy camo values in optimal setup (basically light tank camo)

i would say get it, it's one of the few Tech Tree premiums along with Liberte worth buying at Tier 8. I use mine to grind credits, and i really shouldn't complain with 20-50k profits since i've had a standard account for the past two months. With premium it's sh!ts credits, whether you play it poorly or not

Would you say a GLD is a necessity rather than a luxury? I've certainly found exactly this in the few games I've played so far but I usually avoid putting GLDs on anything that isn't arty because of how it only works when the gun doesn't move.

Well you know WG wanted to address the problem of the Obj.263 branch being unpopular... So instead of making the grind more enjoyable, they just put an overpowered clown tank at tier 10. So now not only will the tier 10 be more popular, they will also get increased profit from people throwing gold at free xp conversions. WG conclusion = problem fixed, da da tavarush.

I don't use GLD and find the gun to be perfectly fine. It's rather comfortable.

The WZ looks lovely in the Chinese Christmas camouflage... (cos I didn't get a Type 59 in my Christmas boxes)

It can also get max view range with the use of optics and a good crew, and that's good because of bad gun traverse, you will need to move your hull a lot when trying to shoot at long range targets, so binos is somewhat frustrating to have.

Honestly I feel like it is at least top 3 tier 8 prems in the game atm...it even has enough side armor to make angling viable and more than enough standard pen to avoid prem rounds..... It doesn't have a turret but the armour, low profile and traverse make up for this.

I run a GLD because i really dislike the long aim time, you can run Optics if you want to, i've had Optics for my first 200 battles and to be honest, they're probably the better option. Installing GLD barely improved aim time. Might go back to Optics

I'm currently using rammer, vents and binos on the basis that my crew were new with the TD so they don't have the camo skill yet to sneak into optics range. I might swap out the binos for optics as they improve, though they'll be going into one of the regular TDs before too long and another crew will go in the premium for skills training. Might not be the optimum way to play it but I like to use my prems for credit and skills grinding.
