How to play with this tank? It just feels worse than Cromwell at everything. I do still win but the issue is that I am struggling to deal steady damage with the low pen.

Once upgraded, it is a nice Tier7.  Low dmg, nice mobility, good gun handling... You have to play this like a true medium.  If your crew isn't 100%, you will want to get them trained quickly.   Since it has low dmg, you need to be able to take a shot and back away.... peek-shoot-hide

You can't play the Comet like a Cromwell, it's not the same tank anymore. You get a lot more gun depression and a smaller turret front that can actually get lucky bounces from lower tier tanks, so use those ridge lines. You'll thank yourself for learning how to ridgeline warrior in the Comet, because all the rest of the tanks in the line are more of the same, they just get better and better at it.

With this pen... the tank is more of a headache.

Edit: I am probably whining at this point. *sigh*

It won't stop the incoming shots because since the remodel the mantlet hasn't existed. But it is still your best chance. Peak over ridges, or engage distracted enemies so that you can use your DPM. Try not to trade shots because your alpha is poor.

Don't make the mistake that it is a cromwell but just a tier higher. It isn't.  It is significantly slower and meets way more armored opponents.. Still i like it a lot..  but i like the Panther as well. If you are top tier you can get out dpm almost anything.. If bottom tier just use the tank for spotting, tracking and in general just being a nuisance

People overhype this tank alot, it's boring af to play, and it has a mosquito gun. But if you're looking for a easy tier 7 3rd mark it's a good choice.

I quite liked mine, took a little while to adjust to the fact that I was not driving a Cromwell anymore, however when I played mine Jap HT's was a new thing so there wasn't that many around, Defenders and Super HT's wasn't a thing, so now I'm not so sure if it's a pleasant experience anymore. Now I'd probably go with tons of premium ammo on it, a lot more than on many of my other tanks. Also if you don't like the Comet that much be preparerad to hate the Cent I, sure it's better now that it got some turret armor, but it's still one of the worst tier 8 MT's I've ever played.

The main thing about the comet it can fit vert.stabs, this alone is worth playing above the cromwel and it's uberbad gunhandling. And with good crew you have excellent view range, so even in worst mm (tier9) you can be a pseudo scout and useful.

This, I 3 marked mine a while ago. When playing in +2 i used to spot on the maps where it's possible as the view range is good, you can try tracking enemies but the low calibre of the gun doesn't guarantee it first shot, and unless you can get the sides or rear of most stuff that's a higher tier than you you're going to be pressing number 2 a lot.

2nd line or ridge line fighter, as that turret can bounce a few as top tier. It's still a fantastic bully tank. But not my fav tier 7 med anymore. But it's still up there. It's not as versatile tier for tier vs the Cromwell. But still highly capable.

You will miss the Comet, even it's low pen when you grind the Cent 1. As that is def the worst one in the line for me.

The reason I went with comet was because I am started doing T28s campaign missions. I have never putten much time into medium tanks... I had comet researched but not bought. So two days ago I decided to buy it and give it a go.

Cromwell I played super aggressive, flanking, pushing through gaps in the enemy team, Just running riot basically.

Comet is different. It's all about ridge lines and a far more measured play style.

Edit: Removed my previous comment. I am slowly getting used to Comet, getting better at it. I guess I was stuck behind not being used to it.

I'm getting used to it too.

It's one of these tanks requiring that special coward play style, super annoying wiggler, ridge peeker and drive by shooter. Pen is horrible, so you got to take the coward angle again to flank and bring your DPM in while the real tanks face the enemy fire.

When the front line is moving to you, you got to bail out and flee / change flanks to try to stay alive.

Also try to never fight alone in a Comet...

In a nutshell, hills + gun depression are your best friends.

use hulldown positions, and your view range...if you have camo perk complited then its even more op tank, u have to relocate alot, predictions, go with the nummbers, never hold a corrner alone :) use your troll turret to bounce few long range shots

remember the penetration is droping every 100m of distance ...
