Hello guys, after the negativity around 9.22 and the like I thought it would be time to brighten up the forum a bit.

What tanks, that aren't OP!, do you just play well in, preferably ones that are essentially just bad for the masses but somehow they work for you. Wether it be something that you thought was going to be bad but was actually fun and competetive, or that you rebought and found enjoyable.

For me I would say both the Firefly and the Churchill I fit here. Share your's down below and tell us why. (with perhaps a bit of explenation as to how you play them aswell)

Firefly: While I hated it at first as I played it stock, once I got the top 17pdr this thing turned into a monster, doing 1-1.5k dmg per game quite often (and I am not such a good player tbh) this thing feels like it can snapshot aswell as that it has good alpha, DPM and pen. And while you pay for this by being extremely bad on the other fronts (speed and armor) the gun is just godlike. You can play this thing in multiple ways, you can snipe (.36 accuracy might not be the best but you've pen to compensate as well as a good RoF) or brawl a bit when top tier (poke when the enemy doesn't expect you) and this will work extremely well. You have to watch out however as shots will pen you in about 90% of the time and you are fairly slow (36km/h max) so you need to return to cap as soon as the capping starts (this has cost me a couple of games sadly).

Churchill I:

I had played this thing around May last year after coming back to WoT, and well, back then I sucked extremely bad. (if you compare me now to then I have improved by an extreme amount) after getting all the upgrades as well as 13k xp on it I dropped it as I needed the slot for other grinds. With the Heavy sale last weekend I rebought it wanting to get to the higher tier UK heavies. And what I expected was a terrible, slow tank. But I was gently surprised, the thing will, while slow, get around, has a very powerfull gun and decentish armor. After acing it twice and doing 1k dmg a lot of times I managed to increase my average dmg of a measly 2xx per game (after 67 games I believe) to something like 380 in only 15 games. And while that still isn't awesome if you were to look at the amount of games I would have to play in order to get the stats to my current skill level it just wouldn't be worth it. This thing was quite fun to play, but well, then I went on with the grind and came to the PoS that is the tier VI (I am NOT even gonna play the tier VII that thing is just a sick joke). This thing will do fairly well when side scraping (watch out, you can track and dmg this thing from the front, the tracks go around the hull) and has a really good gun, just don't expect to go anywhere fast.

Now I would like to hear your hidden gems and see you on the battle field.

Type 5 Chi-Ri.

A most glorious, beautiful, sexy, and deadly tier 7 Japanese medium tank.

WG neutered the tanks which I regarded as hidden gems when they, for all the right reasons but as usual with none of the sense, altered the LT lines. Except the T71, but that isn't hidden any more now that the Bulldog is no longer the best thing since sliced bread.

Skoda T25 with the autoloader is great fun for a tier VI,

Matilda is also amazing with that quick firing scalpel gun it just cuts through everything you meet.

My greatest though is probably the Ram II which you can't get anymore, that thing is just an animal, it doesn't look great on paper but it can rack up incredible amounts of damage over time.

Jg Pz IV, it used to be crap so it got a really bad reputation, now it got the highest DPM of all tier 6 tanks, it's quite mobile and from the front it bounce quite a bit, at least vs lower or the same tiered enemies. I love mine to bits and play it as an assault tank more than anything else, it's not uncommon that you find me with the gun firmly plonked into the side of an enemy just letting the DPM do it's work.

if you like mid tier TD's with ridiculous DPM, try out 60G FT at tier 5, probably the best tier 5 TD right now (145/220(heat) pen, 180 alpha, 2700-ish DPM with rammer and bia)

Leopard.

I dont mean the T9 and 10 oversized scouts, but this T5 real scout.

Slow for a scout, well armored for a scout, agile, good firepower. For armament I prefer MK103.

If necessary, can be played as a medium. Threat to ANY enemy T5 tank, no T6 can ignore it.

Panzer Marsch Marsch!

Did a quick comparison on tank.gg:

https://tanks.gg/com...gpz-iv?t=60g-ft

For being a tier lower it holds up quite well, sure it's larger and lacks armor so no more assault TD, but overall it looks interesting, thanks for the tip! :)

I love my 59-16...was the first of what I consider to be the 'modern', beautiful tanks that i did the grind for.  It's wonderfully agile and was the tonk that i did my first 'circle of death' in around a poor Churchill VII. First successful COD i should say, as i previously tried a side hug and circle with an O-I and got squashed for my efforts.

I'm also really happy that I took to the A-44 line to grind for some rear-turreted tonks, as it's given me the nimble A-43, which has a very tasty gun on it to accompany it's ability to zip around.

I'll second the Tier V Leopard - I keep swapping the guns around on mine, since the machine gun can be literally hit & miss, and I've been mauled several times in game by dudes toting the chatter gun.  Like it's wee cousin the Luchs, there's a very distinct feel to being hit by these tanks and they can both be lethal.

And final nods to TDs - the Alecto can scoot about, and once one can slow one's tempo down enough to utilize the looping HE trajectories, it can be a one-shotting monster ; and finally the Tier IV American MBA1 - like those that follow, it has what can be a fatally slow turret traverse, but it too can get about, and it's pen and rof make it a very effective damage dealer.

Nice topic OP.

Yeah it's a bush fapping TD due to size and armor, but i found it fun to play, the gun is soo good with 1.6 aim time. It and Stug III G are my two tier 5 TD favorites due to gun handling.

I only played one game in it before skipping to the WZ-131G FT. However, it wasn't because it was a bad tank, but more because I felt playing any other battles in it would ruin it.

Amx 12t...i like everything about it apart for the depression but mostly the elevation angles...otherwise...love it.

Jagdtiger...the all mighty beast...that gun is pure porn.

Jp2...makes the ferdi cry in the corner.

WZ-132a...loved the gun, the mobility, an overall good package.

WZ-120...the gun, the grind and reputation of the tank are so bad that it exceeded every single expectation that I had and now that i sold it and played the 121...i actually miss it and think that it is somehow better than 121...weird

T54 mod1...that thing...top tier...it's like a maus that goes 44 :)

T20, quite nice actually for a tier 7...pershing on the other hand...

But from all those...the winner by far is Jagdtiger, followed on 2nd position by amx 12t and on 3rd place the mod1.
