Hi guys,

recently I’ve taken part in the Chinese New Year event which gives me some nice experience bonus for the Chinese line (like 2-2,5k per battle, with premium account). However, I got frustrated a little bit after I’ve taken a look at the new Russian tanks.

While Type T-34 was still quite ok, I now feel like the later tanks are not really worth the grind. Now I have Type 58 (T-34-85 equivalent) and you can really feel the difference – lacking depression (-2 deg), inferior gun (T-34-85 has 144 pen/180 dmg, while Type 58 only has 128 pen/160 dmg) – so not really an equivalent, although they look the same. I’ve heard some good opinions about the Chinese heavies from the Polish youtubers, but now that I look at it, even the new Russian medium tank – Obj 430U has more frontal armor than the Chinese HT WZ-111 5A, which seems ridiculous, not even mentioning the new Russian heavy…

So, does this line have anything that would explain the grind, or am I missing something? Thank you for any opinions.

Go for light tanks. The VII and VIII scouts are among the best scouts imo. Haven't bought IX yet.

While WZ 111 1-4 is a nice vehicle (liked it better than 113) I find it hard to come up with a reason why to play it instead of that Obj 257... But my experiences with Obj 257 are limited to playing against it.. dunno then.. feels just overpowered.

EDIT: Well, actually WZ-131 and WZ-132 are not among the best scouts, more like combat light tanks.. very poor viewrange. But fun vehicles

WZ111 1-4 and WZ111 1-5 are still considered great by many. However as the tanks before are awefull (IS2 is crap, 110 is just powercrept into uselessnes) and the Med line plain horrible (the T7 is ok, tier 8 is crap and the tier 9 has the longest and worst grind in all of WoT and the tier 10 is not even particulary good) you might want to consider going with the lights instead: a line of nice tanks.

I am personally using the event to level up the TD line - tier 8-10 of it look acceptable.

Russian tanks are better than the others.

From chinese I only played the meds till tier 6 then I went to The heavy and light lines. From my noob experience:

t5 Type t-34 - very good tank, ejoyed it much more than the russian version

t6 type 58 - also very good tank imo, fast good for flanking and nice gun. Less armor than the ruski tank.

I am now on the t8 wz 132 but from that line the most I enjoyed the tier 7 wz 131. Very good fire power, mobility and even trolling armour that can bounce.

is-2 was an even better russian is tank, with better mobility and frontal armor. Definetly a good tank.

Right now I am on tier 8 110 which I think is the worst t8 heavy from the game. Even tiger 2 is better. It has bad gun with low alpha, low pen, very slow mobility, nonexistent armor, well maybe sometime you can bounce one or two shots but only by chance. In tier 10 mm is complete useless, because is not good as heavy nor as a medium. Just free xp pinata.

Chinese tonks are hard to play. Have 3 tier IX with stock guns and no chance to do event in them. Had to spend all my free xp to upgrade to top gun in tier VIII TD and have 24 tokens for now (51more tokens)...
