1: isn't the soviet t-44 in every way better than the chinese t-34-2 and

2: isn't the american t20 in every way better than the chinese t-34-1?

of course the latter has 10 more alpha damage and maybe some more armour but far from enough not only to compensate, but even to make a difference. to me it really seems like for all intents and purposes they're both downright worse but i know it's probably not true so please enlighten me.

Maybe that's because Wargaming couldn't come up with any better fakes?

T-44 and T20 don't lead to the WZ-120 and 121 so your comparison is irrelevant.

T-34-1 is easily one of the best if not the best tier 7 med in the game. Good pen, alpha, camo, low profile,  bouncy turret and the ability to hug most tier 7,8,9 heavies side on and keep all but their turret below the heavies gun.

yes, but WZ 132 lead to them. So the best thing to do is get tot the light line and skip the 2 mentioned by OP.

But that means playing light tanks.  Not as bad now as it used to be but still bad.

The T-44 and the T20 are terrible at training Chinese crews.

34-1 is good and 34-2 is handsome. That's about it.

And yet I'll take the T-34-1 over the T20 any day. As it's way more versatile then it for my style. It's def one of my fav tier 7's around.

The T-44 and the T20 are both pretty useless if you are grinding the Chinese tech tree, so don't buy them.

i didn't realise the whole point of playing anything that isn't a tier ten was to get to a tier ten. i've been doing everything wrong simply enjoying the game

so the aim time and gun depression aren't that much of a put off?

with a proper crew I found those quite nice to play.

I had trained those folks painfully on type 59 when I was still a noob

try to never expose your hull to enemy fire, when stationary.

those tonks have an awesome camo rating still...

other than that?

don't get hit in the rear or sides.

maybe i'm starting to get the picture but i'dlike to know what it is exactly that makes them competitive with regards to those two examples i mentioned

since when t34-1 is considered bad lol? OP, to be honest i liked t20 a lot, but in my opinion t34-1 is not worse than its murican counterpart.

T-34-2 is notoriously one of the worst tanks in the game (however every line has a turd tank that the feint of heart will pay money to skip, it's a great way to keep money coming in)

T-34-1 is fine, it's very competiitive at tier VII.

You asked what the point of them is, not why you would play them for poops and giggles.

As it is I found them quite reasonable but have no reason to keep either since I have a Type 59 already.

A lack of gun depression is relatively easy to play around, can't say I noticed the aim time being a problem on any of the Chinese line though.
