It's stupid! Really stupid. The physics in this game are bad enough, you can flip the tank or put it on it's side just by reversing slowly into a building or a rock! Not to mention sliding down a cliff when that stupid "no power, no turn" effect kicks in so you can't even steer going downhill. So then you get the bonus that your tank selfdestructs afterwards. Great job [edited], seriously WTF were you thinking?? You have 30 seconds for some good team mate to come and try to rescue you, and if that even happens, he won't be able to do it in time anyway! Look, (I'm really trying here not to insult you kretens even further) just remove the selfdestruct gimmick from the game and add an option to leave the battle without the penalty. So I can ask my team mates for help and wait for it or just leave. How hard is that?? Is it relly so important for you that we loose more credits by having to repair the tank and just because you can't get the physics right???

FFS!

Tanks in real life do that too, so do dogs

You've played 39 thousand battles and every time you flipped was your fault?? And not the fact that the physics are from Mars? Maybe you're Martian? Welcome! So tanks on Mars also selfdestruct when they're flipped? Interesting... So the problem isn't that the tanks selfdestruct and it's exclusively my fault for flipping the tank?? So I deserve the 30s timer? Right?

Learn to drive..  I've not flipped myself more than maybe three times ever, every time my fault for not paying attention to where I'm driving.

True there is not much difference with being on side, but true too that is pretty rare except for scouts players.

To discourage the stupidity that you were doing just before you flipped your tank.

I've flipped 3 times. One time by getting pushed by a friendly into a rock. Two times by getting to much air and nose diving in a small light. Then again as for why? Well it's not like you are of use if no one helps you either. And tbh, I've seen most flip out of cap at the start. And 6 tanks waste to much time trying to get it back up. If they had unlimited time, they would waste all of it pushing him around base trying to get him up and leaving half the map open for to long. Seen way to many times as a long push can reset the timer giving them more time.

That and for all we know all the ammo in the rack did fall out and one got triggered. Who cares? As you make it sound like it's 100% impossible for a real tank to flip if he gets air and is top heavy. As most that flip gets one track to high up and it starts to rotate. As you would do on any half ramp. As the LTTB to name one is known for flipping easy. In every other tank I've driven? You learn to not cut the corners soon enough so you don't get flipped over.

Actually play the Rheinmetall Panzerwagen something very wrong with the center of gravity with that tank.
But stupid really as WG just put a turret on the top of a full Kanonenjagdpanzer and I am pretty sure the prototype might of used the hull but not a tuuret on the top of the casemate of the full TD.
But hey quick cheap job to model it that way and its center of gravity is totally fubar.

I can not remember which patch as it was a long tie back but WG lightened gravity for some odd reason as what we have bares no reality.
Tanks do flip and move in a gravity less than Earth and tall tanks start to get pretty freaky.

If you want some WTFs of epic flip proportion give the Rheinmetall Panzerwagen a whirl and check out the craziest centre of gravity in WoT.

As with a car, an explosion is possible when flipped upside down due to the fuel backwashing into a very hot combustion engine. Pressure build up can cause the manifold to burst spraying burning fuel everywhere, this can lead to an explosion.

I do feel that the physics which allow you to flip are just a tiny bit off.

As has been pointed out: you can lose traction on a steep slope which magically shuts your engine down- sometimes sending you to your doom as you can't stay in location even if you can't climb. And yet, my Pz IC can climb a near vertical rock in the middle of the battlefield using only the EDGE of its tracks as I play peek-a-boo around said rock.

YES, it might be my fault, but can you also explain a 40+ ton tank climbing a BRICK wall in the same situation and flipping on its side?

I am getting sick of it as well.

The answer is that tanks have suspensions for a reason. They have huge weights. It would be like if you were to just balance you full weight on your head without even the support of your arms. You would not be able to sustain the position and would likely snap your neck if you didn't fall over first. Tanks are not designed to support their weight on their top armour.

The logical reason for this from a game perspective is that if you do land upside down and your tank survives "forever", you have to stay in the battle until it ends or else you will be punished for leaving early. The 30 second counter is probably there to give someone time to help you, and if they won't during that time nobody is likely to do it at all.

The upside down part is ceratinly annoying, and I really don’t see what it adds to the game, but landing on your side is even worse. Hope that a team mate can rescue you or barring that one of the enemy will put you out of your misery.

If allies are near enough and it is early, that can at least be a recoverable position though...
