Hello,

I left the game from one reason that this game was build to be a pay to win, I wanted to return last year but I seen the incident with sirfoch (Edited)

What did it change? I see that Ph3lan still is a Senior Community Manager and that was unforgivable and I have no reason to return, well what is current state now with pay to win?

Second thing, DO NOT LOCK MY TOPIC!
I didnt see a valid answer so I want everyone to have their rights to give a valid answer if this game is or not a pay2win.

I haven't paid a cent since the first 3 months I registered and I manage just fine, but the game have become quite unbalanced recently so you might not like it. Also WG is still WG so if you feel so offended on Foch's behalf that you won't play a game I don't think this is the right game for you.

A lot of the most overpowered tanks in the game are premiums and gold ammo is very much a part of standard game play.

This game was built as pay-to-win from the start and it never stopped being so.

There's a long version to this that explains how much worse it has got but why bother?

Move along, forget it.

Yes. I started paying, and my W8 has been climbing, at an incredible rate.

Serious, go look.

While asking on the these forums "is it worth returning"

I find it takes very little effort to download and give it a try and form my own opinion.

Not sure why someone would come back to the forums to ask if their opinion has changed or not while they were gone.  Just install the game and find out.  If you are just coming back to have the community reaffirm those feelings you have, have a great time.   Just another worthless post that has zero to do with the current gameplay.

If you buy premium ammo with gold, you're doing it wrong.

So you would have invested money if the game wasn't p2w? That makes sense :teethhappy:

Some people pay a LOT of money to WG for WoT and still don't win very much, others don't pay very much and still get great stats.  So for this game: paying != winning

Dear OP,

Ask yourself "why do you want to play an online game?"

Is it because you have fun driving a pixel tank in battles?

Is it because you want to be the best you can at it?

Is it to be able to show the world, via your stats, that you have achieved the pinnacle of human endeavour?

Is it because you want to get involved in the internal affairs of the game provider?

Personally, I dont care about the spat between WG and SF, or any other person who wants to make money out of streaming or whatever. That is their business not mine.

I dont really care about my stats or your stats or anyone elses stats. Of course I would like to be better at the game, but not at the expense of making the game a chore. Each battle I enter I will try my best to help get a win. Winning is the aim, but it is not worth getting stressed over.

As to P2W, other than being on the winning side, what is there to win? Better stats? The ability to brag about how good you are?

Ok, so there are prizes on offer occasionally, but most of those are achievable without paying anything. Maybe Ranked Battles or CW are different, but I can live without those, but even they dont provide cold hard cash. The game is just that, a game. Its not work, it doesnt put food on my table, so where is it P2W?

You either play the game for the fun of it, or you look elsewhere for your entertainment. Whatever you decide, have fun and good luck.

poor players spending money dont necessarilly play better, and good players not spending still play well.  The problem comes with people in the middle (i.e. most of the playerbase) who DO get an advantage.  They can afford to use repair/med kits, skip grinds on vehicles and crew skills, fire more premium ammo and use the new OP premium vehicles.

As someone grinding multiple legacy tier VII tanks, its obvious that the as-designed MM, influx of OP premium tanks and gold ammo spam is at an all time high.

Basically wargaming has designed the game so that an average player is forced to play at tier VI or below or buy premium.
