Yes, definitely.
When tanks can roll over, there should be a possibility to turn them over again without getting yourself banned for teamdamage.

Not just for rolled on sides/flipped over tanks. Anything that isn't classed a TD or SPG should be able to be towed if they sit still for more than 2 minutes.:)

Depends. If the tank to be towed has control, then possibly.

If thetank that tows has control, then no, as it could be open to abuse. Just imaging, with enough idiots who push and shove others, if they roll up behind you, hook up, and tow you out of position, just for the fun of it, why give them another means to ruin the game for others?

Don't know, in my head sounds more like a new way to troll teammates, than helping them.

Could be used in situations where they get stuck or flipped (although it could be useful for that), it would need very careful designing to minimize trolling.

Ofc it would require a command from both sides. Everything else would indeed be nonsense.

Okay, I have an Empire Strikes Back style image, of some wasp of a light, winding it's tow-line round a Maus' tracks three times, so tangling it up and perma-tracking it...

Ok, because of you I disagree with this idea.

Something ver much like that could happen in the early days. When you couldn't move dead (or alive) tanks.

2 LT's could lock up a Maus.

Heck, even the tiniest of LT's were able to block bridges, the middle road on Lakeville  etc. (different topic)

You mean you've seen team play where other players flip back an overturned tank ?!

rescuer >Roll up to within 3mtr front or rear and press 7 for tow.

The flipped tank then has to accept by pressing 7, once rescued the rescuee unhitches by pressing 7 again. Or auto unhitch after manovers have been made to free flipped or trapped tank.

I played "crossover" beta and part of the equpment is a "jack" well basic but with it you can unflip fipped vehicles.

I'd imagine something better than this though from WG coders(who am I kidding right!).

It happens at times, the reason why it's rare is that it takes time, doesn't always work (especially bottom-up) - and both the involved tanks run the risk of getting banned. You usually don't turn blue from a single 'accident', but still.

Yes. But like Aikl said, it rarely happens. Another reason why that is the case has to do with the general gamebalance: When matches are over in mere minutes, you'll think twice before you waste a minute helping a flipped tank, especially when you can't even tell if it works.

That's indeed the biggest problem.  It takes time...  some times it takes far too much time.   And you might get shot at before you manage to flip the tank back.

But I think there would be an option that it far easier to do...    The game already has a functionality to detect when the tank is flipped on the side.  (It's actually indicating it with an icon. )    Just give the flipped tanker the option to press a button to upright the tank.    You could make this a "repair" from the repair kit.  That should be enough deterrent not to be abused.

cables, machine guns, multiple guns system... lots of things that could improve and refresh the game

Simplest solution would be for WG to just disable team damage when the game detects a tank is in the 'flipped' state. No complicated mechanics required, just a few lines of code.

Yeah turning off crush damage or ramming damage when doing that would not be the worst. But it won't bring the memes in a smash pit anymore like you see late game at times. But most tanks are still not easy to flip back over when they are on their heads. As I'm sure you have seen an E100 push around a Bc25 around like the was playing Curling for 2 min trying to "help". Were a tow cable would be a good tool to waste less time on it.

Tho in WT tow cables is used for more then helping a stuck tank. It can be used for climbing to. As in tow a tank up to your place that he can't drive up on his own. Not that it will lead to more goats, as I'm sure lights and Swedish TD's can't  pull an E100 up their spots. But small ledges like with up to the houses on Abbey on the 8 lane from the north/east. So bigger tanks can cut over there via field with help etc.
