It is my opinion that the current method of applying crew xp when Accelerate Crew Training is selected is not logical.  Accelerate Crew Training is supposed to add double crew xp to the crew member with the least training.  But, if you have two crew members, one member with two skills at 100% and the third skill at 35% and the other crew member has 95% on the first skill the crew member with 35% on the third skill gets the extra crew xp and not the crew member with 95% on the first skill.

The crew member with the least training is NOT the 35% third skill, but the 95% first skill.

Here you can see what I am talking about:

The sisterhood of steel perk for female crew members counts as 0xp so xp wise your commander and gunner have less xp than your loader.

This.

Now we just need someone to set up a Berlin crew in this way, as it's impossible to tell by just looking at the content of the screenshot ...

Dont know if it matters or not, but my female crew members have BIA, not SoS.  But, you could be correct.  This is the only vehicle that I have with female crew members.  At any rate, I still contend that the logic here is not the best.

If you reset one of those girls skills, you'll see that it will only reset two of them,

BIA on girl crews is a free perk, so training their second skill is actually the first skill,

same with Berlin crews and Rudy crew.

That makes sense.  I still think the WG's logic is faulty....I know....that's normal at times.  A free skill is still a skill and should be treated as the first one in my opinion.

Thanks for your explanation.

Yet it isn't, and never has been.

It's beneficial to you that it isn't...so why complain?

Please explain how the situation of which I am speaking is beneficial to me.  If a free skill were treated as the first skill, my 2 skill crew member would reach 100% on the second skill in half of the time.  As it is now, the Accelerate Crew Training bonus is given to the crew members with 3 skills before the second skill crew member.  I can't see a benefit in that.

Because those crews are designed to be used together. Hence the reason they all get it.

The more crew skills I have the more enjoyment I have creating delicious whine from tasty, crunchy little tanks.

Yes, but I only have 4 female crew members in a 6 crew arty....that is my situation and I asked how having free skills not counted as the first skill is beneficial to me.  I can't see that it is.

I understand your point that I got a free skill and shouldn't complain, but I still don't see the logic in the way things are. Maybe it isn't possible for the free skill to be counted as a free skill, but it should in my opinion.  If this were my first 2 or 3 skill crew, it might be more important to me, but it isn't.  It isn't a big deal to me, I was simply expressing my opinion. Thanks for your input.

It's beneficial in a way that their 3rd skill will take you ~420k xp to train instead of the ~840k it takes for a normal crew.

No.  It gives the extra exp to the crew member with the least exp.

When you realise that then your example makes perfect sense.

The logic is fine.

Crew members have two pools of XP.

  • Primary skill XP
  • Secondary skill XP

The amount of primary skill XP dictates the primary skill level.

The amount of secondary XP dictates how many secondary skills that crew member has.

When accelerating crew training, the crew member with The lowest amount of primary XP gets the extra XP.

When all crew have the same amount of primary XP, the one with the smallest amount of secondary XP gets the bonus, because they are the least well trained.

The number of skills a crew member has doesn't dictate the amount of XP the crew member has. It's the other way round.

Your female crew member has less XP, so gets the training.

The logic is fine, just not intuitive: Accelerated Crew Training doesn't look at skills, only the total amount of Crew-XP. That way WG doesn't have to deal with special cases like unassigned XP and stuff.
