I've noticed this quite a few times, you blow someone's tracks and it's insta-repaired, like 0.2 of a second, they haven't even rolled to a stop and the track is fixed and they're back without even breaking momentum.

It happens too fast for it to be keyboard keys, too fast for it to be a mouse-pointer repair, it can only be either a mod or a mouse button macro. So can anyone tell me where to get such a nice ''mod'' since it's all well and good modding the client? As for mouse macro, is it always the same two keys to repair the track? like 4-6 in quick succession or something?

Also, if you've more forum posts than games nobody cares what your opinion is, especially me.

Just set your repair key to a mouse button , most mice have extra buttons for crap like this.

Edit. or set it to your space bar, takes a fraction of a second to hit that.providing its a large repair kit of course.

I've got my repair kit on the 4 key still and i'm that used to hitting 4 and 5 to repair my tracks that a lot of the times my tank is still grinding to a halt as i've repaired :p normally put my fire extinguisher on the spacebar.

One could also mash that repair button beforehand if they anticipate a detrack ;)

I've noticed the same for some time now and an instant healing kit. It must be a cheat mod, there used to be one for the fire extinguisher so no doubt some scrub has made a mod for it.

How do I know? Having played thousands of arty battles of late you get used to players repairing quickly, but some tracks are repaired instantly and some heal so quickly the stun timer is not even shown. No human, even with macros is that quick.

I have repair and tracks to the middle mouse button. Usually gets it up before the tank is done spinning if is a med or light. If you have a large repair kit, it's a single click vs two. And way way faster to get up again.

Sure there are auto repair mods. But even a manual one can get it up again in less then a second if they are fast enough. As most say 0.2. But when we ask for a replay, it's usually around 1 second or right above it. As most think it's a mod if they don't sit there for 5 seconds to take the beating anyway. As I get a PM now and then for "repair hack". Even got one today for having insta repair two times. As I have a small and large on one of my grinds atm. One to the middle button, one to the side button. As the side is usually for fire extinguishers. But for that it's 3 ticks regardless of how fast you are if you use a small one. Auto extinguishers is one tick regardless of a mod or not.

Yep I noticed it more playing arty as well. You'd track them and cause 3 crits and they'd be repaired and back moving in a split second. No human is that fast.

Is it always 4 then 5? (assuming the repair kit is in the 4 position)

Best thing is to save your replay and then send it in to WG to have a butchers at.

First off, you are not able in any way to say with any certainty it was 0.2 seconds.

Secondly, go check the average reaction time of a human being.

Not rare to do that. Doesn't require any superhuman reactions.

Have you heard of large repair kits?

And yes, it's always (for me) 5-5 if I use a small repair kit, not really hard to pre-empt getting tracked and double tap a single key if your finger is already over it.

Do remember that what you see may not be what happens at their end either.  You shoot, you have to wait for the server to tell you that you tracked them before you get the animation.  Meanwhile to give you a smooth gaming experience your client assumes they carry on driving.  Maybe the packet saying tracked is delayed on your end but not for the enemy. Then he repairs, server sends you the repaired message which arrives with no delay this time.  What you see is an instant repair but that is not how it happened.

BTW there's a bear under your bed.

Yeah i know a lot of my clan mates put the repair kit on key 5 to make it just a double tap of 5 to get your tracks back up. It's definitely reasonable to have your tracks back up in well under a second once you are used to it.

Get a gaming mouse ya scrub. :P

No but seriously... I used the 4 key for the med kit because my driver dies a lot and the driver is in 4th position, 5 key for the repair kit because tracks are 5 so just double-tap 5 (DO NOT LISTEN TO QB'S 4-5 KEYBIND, 5-5 is faster) and 6 for fire ext.

Then I got a gaming mouse with two extra thumb buttons and set one of them as the 5 key and the other as the 6 key on the keyboard so I can quickly fix my tracks or put out a fire before the third tick. Of course premium consumables are faster but I save those for when I need to withdraw credits from my enormous supply of said consumables. :D

It's not cheating... it's advanced gaming hardware accessible to all. I've heard of some illegal mod that uses consumables instantly though, but I dunno if it's actually real. I've actually seen instant track repair and stun removal in-game aswell, on other player's tanks.

I dunno...

surely 5-5?

Is really easy to do, especially if you just poked out and *know* you fecked up and you're ready for it or even deliberately set out to do it.

I have a mouse with a bunch of keys, I may key one of the buttons for it alright since it's so handy. What I'll also do is I'll make a webm from a recent replay where a guy basically insta-repaired his tracks and barely even broke his stride. I won't get banned for that right? Wargaming is a bit hit-and-miss these days about what they get upset over.
