Yep brings back some memories, interesting that announcers voice doesn't seem to have changed much, if at all, over the years...

Has it ever been balanced?

Really?

I've been playing just a little over four years and, as far as I can recall, there is always someone complaining about something being 'broken'

Nice video. It's good to remember that at least the graphical section of wargaming is doing a great job along time! :)

Chrysler... Never seen one for a long time, what's happened to them. Remember when they first appeared there was at least 2 or 3 in every match now.....

They just weren't as op as a lot thought. Same as with most new premiums, they are new to people and they do not know how to deal with them. After a while they do and stop complaining.

Good memories. Been playing since 2011 so have been going along with all these changes.

Missing a couple of things like the special 8-bit minigames featuring Karl or the Chaffee races, those were good fun..

Press '2' twice.

It wasn't so much that the Chrysler was OP, it was more the fact that at the time it represented everything that is wrong with WG;

- No frontal weakspots

- To pen it, a tank in its tier or lower requires premium ammo spam. Save for a few tier 8 TDs and a handful of heavies, nothing gets through the front of this ting without smashing the '2' key.

- It's own gun required premium ammo spam to be effective

Basically a cash grab and credit sink.

Another reason as to why people don't complain about it or hype it anymore is because it has been replaced as the poster boy of WG's ills by new tanks such as the VK 100.01P and overbuffed Maus and Types while a number of other tanks in its range have received insane buffs (everybody getting turret buffs towards the end of 2017, as an example).

Chrystler is absolutely disgusting vs lower tiers. You don´t see them much now because MM is f´ed and they have to go up against T10 all the time.

Between the general power creep, the armour creep in particular and the matchmaking woes of the 3/5/7 template system, I´m struggling to remember a time when WoT was worse.

Probably back when arty was super hard hitting, fairly accurate and unrestricted in numbers (regular arty party occurrence). The 105 leFH premium abomination is still a reminder of those days.

Yeah, it never looked better than now and WG have taken steps to address the  :arta: problem but the basic tank vs. tank combat has imo never been worse since the days when "warping" was still an issue.

The removal of +-3MM for example is imo largely nullified by armour buffs on higher tiers. Sure being bottom tier in +-3 was bad, but being bottom tier now vs tanks 2 tiers higher is way worse than it used to be (and more common thanks to 3/5/7).

weird, says Jap heavies and Czech tanks were introduced when dragon ridge and northwest were removed yet I played then, I played north west yet I never ever played dragon ridge.

is the timeline accurate?

I felt it was balanced until the british line was introduced.

Then started with the matilda this race to stupid armor.

I said SOMEWHAT balanced and it was especially compared to what we have now.

Yes we had Hellcat and KV1S but those were easy tanks to kill and not todays tanks with 250mm weakspots or even without those.

from the wiki:

Dragon Ridge

Located on Ladder Rice Paddy in China, Infamous for its confusing map layout and players often get lost and/or fall down to cliff and dies. Removed from game in patch 8.4

Japanese Tank was introduced in World of Tanks update version 8.10

A new, Czech-inspired map introduced in patch 9.13 to coincide with the release of the Czechoslovakian medium tank branch.

Really cool.

DezGamez videos are always great and fun to watch.

Watching this video, I noticed that with every new year Client size was getting bigger and bigger.

And with that, more and more crap was introuced into this game, like the biggest lie of all time - New "improved" Matchmaking.

Or SPG's "stun effect" with much more accurate and faster reloading guns...

So many maps were removed, but let's better add more crap maps, like Paris, Overlord, Pilsen and some similar like these...

Let's don't forget the arrival of Premium ammo, Japanese heavy tanks with "weakspots" and etc...

This game has become worse and actually not fun any more (at least for me)...

Good bye, old WoT.
