Whenever I use Personal Reserves I'm enjoying the time I play less than without - because they are time based and not active for a fixed No. of games.

I think, instead of giving 1 or 2 hour bonus they should instead allow X number of games to get the benefits.

A reasonable number instead of 1 hour would be between 6-10 games, probably 8 games being the most fair and mathematically significant replacement.

1hour ->>> 8 games

2hours ->>> 16 games

When I use time-based Personal Reserves, I

* can't finish watching an interesting active game after my tank gets destroyed (or I would lose bonus time)

* feel pressured to perform extra well which probably results in the exact opposite.

* don't have time to meddle in the garage or chat with friends

* don't have time to go to the toilet, make coffee, or just take a short break for whatever reason.

It's basically like getting chained to your computer chair for 2 hours straight, so I hope WG will some day change the Reserves to give the players a more enjoyable time overall.

Then do what I do.  Ignore them. I have yet to use a personal reserve.  Largely for the reasons you outline.  I play a handful of games a night just to relax.  Personal Reserves would make it feel like work....

I would expect a reply about why or if it would be a bad idea to change the Reserves into a fixed number of games instead of time based, and not some silly "how long do you need to take a pee" nonsense. Of course you can also say "it's a good idea and would make them more enjoyable" if you agree.

Then play at times you expect to be able to play uninterrupted and use them at those times?

Can't chat with friends/clanmates? Get a microphone and join them on discord, teamspeak, or some such.

Don't have time to make coffee? Make it beforehand (a jug full instead of a single cup), ditto for other stuff like that.

well to me it just sounded silly that you cant take a crap or make coffee while you have personal reserves on, they aint really that important and they are free.

And yes i agree with you, your idea is good and id like that instead of the current system.

Thanks for your tips, and I am already doing all of those things. I even make sure to go to the toilet, make coffee, check my vape is working, get cookies,...

But seriously, the whole point of a forum and discourse it to make things better, not to be like "deal with it, it wont ever change", or we'd still be in the Stone Age.

Interestingly, the mere existence of personal reserves has probably made me play a lot less lately. Normally, I would play a game or three, sometimes extending this into an hour-long session. So I feel like playing a game, I start the client, and the usual mental dialogue begins:

The Devil in my head: Don't forget to start a bunch of personal reserves, too.

Me: Yeah, sure, good idea! I'll start... oh crap, they are mostly for two hours, and we were only going to play a game...

The Devil: Doesn't matter, we have way more than we ever need.

Me: True. But what if we played for two hours today, then we would get the full benefits?!

The Devil: Whatever, just start some.

Me (happily): Great! So let's see, we'll pick... But do we actually want to play for two hours?

The Devil: No, we don't, but it doesn't matter, just start some.

Me: Oh dear, I guess we don't. I'll start this... oh my, what a huge waste this would be! Just one game is not worth so much!

The Devil: Start it anyway, all those unused reserves are leaking out of the client already!

Me: No I won't! We are going to play that game without activating any reserves!

The Devil: Holy crap, are you crazy?! Now THAT would be a waste. Start a bloody reserve already and let's go!

Me: You are talking about waste?! I am not going to throw away three good reserves for just one game! We'll go without!

The Devil: If we don't start a reserve then we won't play that game! At least that won't waste anything.

Me: Right! Screw that game, it is too late already. And it would probably be miserable anyway. Maybe tomorrow.

The Devil: Deal! See you tomorrow.

And so it goes. I'm expecting a fat bill from WG for storing all my personal reserves any time now.

Better to use them 50% of the time activated than to leave them be and not use at all. So just put them on, forget about it, and do whatever you feel like.

Not gonna happen, for the exact same reason premium account counts time and not battles.

Once you start to track your progress, you get used to them, and you will barely notice they are active, except for the added XP/crew XP.

I use them and do not worry about the time aspect.  I get what I get.

It's annoying, but just stop caring and activate them whenever you see fit. When I activate them, I sometimes only play 3 matches or so.
The good thing is that you get quite a lot if them through missions and stuff.

In WoWS the reserve system is replaced by signal flags which offer a one time only bonus.  I think I prefer that system.

There's no point being stressed out by them, i used to be stressed out by them myself. But really, you get loads of those reserves for free or by some simple (grinding?) missions.

Best thing you can do is to activate them and then simply forget about them, might be a bit unneccessary to activate them if you know beforehand you can just play for 30 minutes, but usually you have an idea of how long you can play. Need to take a crap for 15 minutes after the first hour? Do it. Don't feel like playing after 1.5 hours? Just quit and do something else. If the timer on your personal reserves are your biggest issue in this life, you should consider yourself lucky.

free stuff is evil. it makes people to demand more free stuff, like if they deserve it. Behold the old Russian classic tale:
