Awesome! Will this also mean that it'll be harder to instal "banned" mods into the game as well?

Edit: Nevermind, not the kind of mod hub I was expecting :P

Maybe create an authentication check, something like digital signed stuff, so only GREEN mods can be installed in the client?
I dont know how feasible is this technologically, but if it works, it should make illegal mods impossible to install.

Good job nonetheless, a very good first step. !

Will the mod hub also check mods for malware etc? :)

EDIT: Oh and it would be nice if you could add the link to the Mod Hub on the main menu on the top with "games", "services" etc.

EDIT2: If someone could upload the live MoE mod it would be awsome :great:

The big question i have : does it implies that any mods not downloaded from this mod hub are from now forbidden?

Does this mean that every modpack there contains only verified and allowed mods?

The big question is whether this will eventually mean only mods available on/through the mod hub will be allowed.  If not, then it's of little use.  It's not the people who are accidentally using illegal mods that players generally complain about.

Here's an excerpt from the interview with Anton Pankov made by Armored Patrol's Ushakov:

"...

Ushakov: What the plan to counter forbidden mods?

Pankov: We’re continuing with bans and trying to close the client to mods.

Ushakov: Something like a digital signature so you can only play with allowed mods?

Pankov: Yes, there’s a list of mods which we want to add.

..."

I sincerely hope this will be the case. Unfortunate for all those 3rd party websites, but a big step forward against cheating.

The big question is how long does it take to get a mod approved.

If it's going to be several days between release of a patch, to mods being approved then it will be a failure.

Does this mean that in the future you can only install mods via the mod hub? Seems like a good step in the right direction.

Quickybabies modpack is as vanilla as it gets. Just with a few super important small things that I almost can't play without.

Speaking of which...I didn't find that one on there. I guess he is still going to use Youtube as his main channel for the modpack but there is no link even....
