For all the naysayers, here is the replay.

Someone explain how that fame guy got more XP than me. I'm curious.

Without watching I'm going to guess that he sat closer to a brawl for a longer time. You see in ranked there is exp dust that comes from tanks getting hit and the closer you are the more you breathe in.

Ranked Battles is a rigged system. I hope you know that. There is no balanced teams or tanks. Some tanks (mediums and fast heavies) do better than others. The way this system is rigged is as follows:

1. The match making (MM) system is the same as random battles, so for the most part you get team that are not skill ballanced. Only later, maybe at rank 7 and up, can you say the team "might" be skill based. I played last night. MM gave me good teams and I won 9 straight games always ending in the top 5. Today, MM gives me bad teams and although I end in the top 5 with damage, I lose a chevron.

2. Your rank depend on XP not HP. This means the best tank to play is a medium or fast heavy. If you play an SPG it will be very difficult when you lose to retain a rank, even if you do high damage. I have played a ranked battle in my SPG where I did the 2nd highest damage on the team but lost a rank because the XP is what gets you through. SPGs dont move around and don't spot the enemy so unless you get the highest damage or win you wont be retaining your rank. I immediately sold my SPG after that.

I have just fought a battle in a Type 5 Heavy. We lost. We only killed 5 tanks. I did the 3rd highest damage and killed 2 of the 5 tanks but I lost a chevron. Now that is interesting right. Because my Type 5 Heavy is slow and made to hold/defend a position, I get penalized with less XP for that. That can't be fair but that is how the "wonderfull" ranked system works.

This version (3rd season) of ranked battles is way better than the previous 2, but when you are in battles where the battles end 14-3 or 14-5 en 14-6 you know there is no skill balancing in the team so the fights are "rigged".

Joke aside, this might very well be close to truth.

No joke. If you go around to flank you miss out on important BCT (Brawl Cluster Time) and if it's an open map and your flank shots comes from a distance then your damage will have a significantly lesser value. And you really don't want to think about the cap. Any cap. It's often said that randoms are 1 vs 29. I don't agree with that, but it does hold true in ranked. I'm not good enough to compete with all these competent players damage wise but I have made it to 15 by sticking to the BCT diet. Hugging hill rock on Tundra is broccoli. If broccoli is really good.

XP through assisted damage from tracking enemy tanks? From his hull down position in the valley?

Maybe he was able to track some tanks for the others and at the end of the game the enemy were side on to the push along the top and he tracked the rest?

Edit: without knowing which tanks he tracked or how they suffered as a consequence it's hard to tell, but maybe he got lucky with tracking?

I have found also the other threads, now that have been bumped on first page.

Now I know why for the last 3-4 days we have these lemming trains even at high ranks.

I still prefer a smart play when is possible. Better to win and not lose a chevron.

Another one quibbling over 3 exp.

I take it you never paid attention to the battle results before.  It's always been like this.

It seems to be the brawl thing, basically sitting in a brawl not doing much seems to leach you XP.

Didn't impact you much though, you were still in the top 10 and a way off the top 3.

What before ? Randoms ? Ranked ?

I complained that something is off with the exp gains in beta ranked at that time too. But as usual same naysayers/forum trolls, which I doubt are even playing the mode, found something to nitpick.

That is 3 or 300 exp difference between me and that guy is irrelevant since the place is what matters. That place can cost me a chevron. It didn't this time. Other times it did.

I had 5.5k combined vs 1.2k and that translated in him gainning a place above me. I picked this example because it's obviously flawed. I could have made an argument that I deserved a top 3.

Plus, that much combined will return 900+ xp in randoms, not 700 like I got. WG is basically stealing exp to randomly give to others based on proximity .... what a total BS.

Edit: I typed this answer from phone and I didn't check what xp I got. Was 900 not 700.

As far as we know they are using the same calculation as in random battles.  Exp in randoms has always been pretty inexplicable.

I did ask about assisted tracked damage XP but that seems to have been lost in translation?

Isn't the purpose of watching it is to give an informed conclusion. Or do people like to ask for a replay or it didn't happen for the fun of it. Because from what I keep seeing. People just can't be bothered to watch replays & just troll away.

Why investigate when it's the same answer to all these ranked "why did x get more than y" exp questions. Look at this picture below for example. Do you need to watch the replay to find out why I got more exp than the B-C below by doing jackshit? Or can you just take my previous answer and apply, perhaps?

Lakeville valley.

I think Xp is tank dependent... there is an XP multiplier for each tank. That's the only reason that explains some results.

Just go to check the tanks that have higher XP and play those... 430U, Patton, obj 268-4, super conqueror, etc

http://www.vbaddict....erience&server=

You can also check in which tank you gain more exp, and play those

has a rule of thumb don't play SPG, Lights and TD's
