Rather than screwing around with graphics why not fix the core issues ion the game 1st.
1. Balance the tanks out better
2. Remove pay to win ammo (HEAT, HESH, APCR)
3. Stop creating to many paper and premium tanks and go back to factual tanks.
4. Add more maps and better game modes.
At the end of the day as the saying goes you cant polish a turd, and this game in past few years has gone from worse to worse with devs who are only interested in a players wallet rather than the fun factor and and skill requirements.
The game is now very confusing with far to many factors to take into account, players trying to to complete personal missions rather than play as a team, and stupid rewards only for those that have advanced to tier X that massively unbalance the game to the point it is no longer fun.

I don't think it's fun to have two tiers higher tanks on the same game, which seem almost impossible to penetrate even when you shoot from behind but he kills you with one shot..
Maybe add a feature to the random match making so you can have only one tier difference.

Players leave the game because of mm created losses +alot of other reasons.
Players leaving wot because of graphics not looking good enough =0.00000000001%
Try fixing players complaints

I do not see how this points relate to graphics update. They are done by different departments so changes to graphics does not affect changes to tanks that much.
