My fellow tankers,

We live in dark times. Since time immemorial (the game's v9, in fact), FMOD Designer has been replaced by its cousin, WWise. Ever since, the numerous voice packs that could be found throughout these lands have all but disappeared ; and those most courageous who intended on bringing them back only managed, so far, to do so with limited success and horribly impractical methods. Furthermore, the most important pioneer of these forums, NoblePlatoon, has not come back to make things right.

Therefore, I have decided to take action and put together this wee tutorial, which will help you to make World of Tanks great again.

However, please do note that this will only cover full voicepacks for now, nothing more and nothing less; because I have not really had the time to experiment with everything else. Such is life.

Let's now start with the beginning :

Prerequisites :

Spoiler

Methodology

Step 1 : Setting up the audio files

Spoiler

Step 2 : Getting to the heart of things

Spoiler

Step 3 : Small touchups with WWISE

Spoiler

Step 4 :Volume management

Spoiler

Step 5 : Generating the sound bank

Spoiler

This is the end of this tutorial. If there's any question, i'm  all ears.

Have fun !

Hi Kyphros,

first of all, thank you very much about the guide you produced....some release ago, I realized an italian voice pack using the voice of the clan player and now,I would like do the same,but.......I'm blocked to step2 when yuo wrote; You'll therefore prevent it from being imported, by selecting the "No object" option in the related menu.

I put my wave files in the male subdirectories and this is my situation(see img 1): which Random Container I have to configure as  No object ?

Please, follow me till the end of work :hiding:

Have a nice day...ciao....Marco

Hi,

I've been following your tutorial on how to make new crew sounds. I've managed to create the mod I desired for which I'm grateful.

However I would like to change the garage music too but sadly I haven't found a guide and a template for it. I would like to ask you if you could help me out with this.

Kind regards,
Henschel_Werke

How can I make my Soundmods compatible with WoT 1.1.0 ?

The previous game versions they still worked fine but now there is no Sound :/

I created them with Wise, but with a slightly other method from the User "D2R5L" I found here: http://forum.worldof...n-7-easy-steps/

Because I was not successfull anymore with that old method I tried yours, alas without success. Im pretty sure I did everything like you explained.

Im curious if my Failure is caused by a fault of mine or if your method is in need of an Update and how one actually would need to alter your method then.

However, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, it is appreciated.

Thank you Zorg, that worked immediatly !

How did you find out though, which version of wwise is needed ?

P.S.: It maybe that the Female Sounds do not appear, I need some testing though as I just have pitched the male voice for testing purposes and that might just not work and just play the unpitched male Sound.

Tutorial updated. New license uploaded. Links haven't changed. And, just as Zorgane says, there's a new version number you have to use now : 2017.2.5 6619. Have fun modding everyone !

I'm not sure what you mean by pitched and unpitched. Did you apply special effects to sounds in the Female categories ?

Sorry to answer you late but I was a week offline and unaware of your post.

Your assumption was right, I changed the sound effects only with wwise applying "pitch" effect at "general settings" of every single "female" subfolder to make the female sound files sound "higher".

I also may humbly thank you for your work and your sincere support.

Sorry for the ignorant question, but I guess there are no dumb questions. If I follow this guide but want to make only German voiceovers, how would I proceed? I assume this guide only change the default English voices or did I miss something? Other than that everything works just fine except you can't make national voices... I got a set of multilanguage files I'm trying to import into the game.
