As the title says, who off you really care about it? Is it high enough, is it too low........do you go by recent's rather than overall?

Main reason i ask is that i was platooning with a friend the other day and he was moaning about how he wasn't playing upto his usual standards (1600) and needed to play better, I told him to chill and just enjoy and have a laugh; the conversation carried on with him basically saying that he only played this game because of stats, and if stats were not in the game he wouldn't play, his goals are to get to 2000 WN8 with some tier 10s 3 marked.

I personally did worry about stats but that was back when i was trying to get into a decent clan, where the requirements were say 52% WR or 1500 WN8 or Recent WN8 2000 etc etc.

As of now i really dont care how i personally play, but i try my hardest to win and influence the game, which i guess automatically gives you good statistics.....

So just wondering, how many more players out there really care about their stats to the degree that if there was no WN8 scale, no in-game WR or personal rating they would quit playing?

I stopped caring about my WN8. WN8 = overrated + useless :hiding:

The game becomes a lot more fun if you do not care about WN8 and/or any other rating.

I look at mine in my sig but other than that I don't really bother with it that much. If it was removed or blocked from game somehow I'd play just as much though. I'm never gonna be good enough or patient enough to be really good like blue or so but as long as I'm on the right side of average I'll be happy.

I have no idea what mine is. To be honest don't really even know what WN8 is. I had over 10k games on my main account when I found out that there are things like WR. My WR at 10k battles was 57%. I must have been called a reroll many times. But I never paid much attention to the chat either. I always played super aggressively and had no time for chat.

I dont for at least a year now....

Its a pointless stat, can be padded, rigged and inflated in various ways. There are better ways to determine skill that wn8, much better ways.

I am not that fussed by WN8. I do track my win rate and it is hard to ignore when you have had a good period of success. I am currently suffering from a down arrow in my WR. Nothing dramatic but it does vex me having had two months of positive improvement.

I care about improving as a player. I only care about WN8 in so far as it helps with that.

I don't really care, sometimes I take a look at it to see how I'm doing, but all in all I couldn't care less about it

I sometimes follow mine, but I don't play with the sole purpose of increasing it. I'm more into winrate, because winning is fun.

WN8 I mostly use to assess how well I'm doing in certain tanks or on certain days. However mostly my hunch of "I played badly today" or "I have no idea how to play this tank" is quite accurately reflected in the WN8 too, so following the values is more just to affirm my own estimates and conclusions.

I use it to compare if I do enough damage for my skill level, only using it as tank-by-tank basis. Global wn8 seems useless to me, considering that the expected values differs so much between tanks and classes.

If there was no win rate or wn8 I would be bored playing wot, I like targets. I force myself to meet the required damage.

I've always been obsessed with stats, I don't know if anybody played LOTRO but there was a rating system in pvp in the early years, I was a 5star hugger there too.

I have to be good at games or i don't play them.

Ps  I check my own stats on tanks gg like 5x a day. Which effects my mood depending on the result.

well, when I first installed XVM when I had around 9-10k battles, I was a ripe 44%, so I asume a couple days or weeks later, I decided, "I'm going to improve!" and slowly but steadily, my win rate(with my wn8) increased steadily, but by bit until now.

looking back, I have progressed so far, and still have a long way to go.

so in my case, it helped me improve, but I don't look at it that much any more. One of my goals was to reach the "yellow" area, I supose I could go for the green now, but I'm not in a rush to get it

I did not even have a clue that WN8 existed for my 1st 15K games!
I was very ill for several months & WOT was something to do while I was housebound.
WOT was not something I ever wanted to take seriously, so I resisted trying to do so for quite a while.

Then I realised that I did actually want to try out the clan system & get better.
Then I started to learn how to play properly.
It took me ages to lift my stats above aweful!

I've had some great times with various clans & even managed to earn a Chieftain T95 for my efforts.

My WN8 does not really matter anymore to me.
As it will not really get better due to the 20K games I played as a tomato.

Plus I'm older & my reactions are not as fast as they were.

So screw WN8.
Learn by watching & understanding the better YouTube's & Twitch streamers.

Just have fun!
The advantage of not being purple is your not the main focus.
Though I still do get focused.

Get better at winning!
WN8 farmers unless they are really good tend to lose you the game!
(Those red line team farming campers are not good for anyone...)

P.S. Having re-read the original post I will just add.

The PC that I am playing on at the moment has really big problems playing to many tier 10 games!

My broken PC did not.

But I still decided to have a bit of a bash at ranked.

Though my attitude as I could not rely upon it not to lag me to death was;

I'll play a fun tank that  I like!

(Only using prem when when it was needed)

So I jumped into my Centurion AX determined to not get to wired!

Got to tier 5 within 2 hours, easy!

Including a a few top in xp games wins & losses in a supposedly weaker tank!

I may try to get higher if I feel like it & my reserve PC does not overheat...

Don't know, don't bother, don't care, Chasing virtual numbers is stupid. Not to mention what a toxic game it creates.

Xvm stats should be banned.

Ps. how stupid you have to be to re roll just to get better number.on your nick

I hate stats and run my clan on the fact that Stats are for Morons.... they are quoted by the lesser of the species who have no life and like to gob off .

Stats have no meaning, it is all about having fun ....enjoying a game or 2 with a beer.

I do because when I looked at my stats some time ago they revealed I simply wasn't doing enough damage. As WN8 reflects that I am trying to push it higher.

don't even know what my own WN8 is, so no, I don't really care about it

and what reason is there to care about it? apart from being a [edited]in chat to a bunch of randoms on the internet?

Before, yes. Now? Not really. I've not used XVM for almost a year. I only get upset if I have a bad losing streak now. If I win and got killed early with no WN8, or my stock grinds kills my WN8 "as I'm sure my last two did". Don't really care anymore. And my style of play is more fun and relaxed when you don't care about stuff like that, vs when I got upset that I had not gotten enough wn8 on a game or a day.
