Today i got rank 15 it was not hard from there to get 2 points and  get in the to 700, geting to rank 15 without premium account costed 12 million credits that took half a year to grind, so is it worth the efford? Was it any fun? Can it be improved? What were its major flaws?

 

For me it was worth the efford because frankly I don't have anything else to do, I have almost all tier 10s that i want (i still want type 5 4 cw and t100lt) and im not interested in 3 marking last but not least i wanted to test my mettle against better players and not avg joe that i have farmed over and over. If I did not have the vehicles money or time i wouldnt bother.

 

It was not as much fun as the first 2 ranked seasons because its all about brawling and let me tell you brawling super  conquerrors,5a is7 and type5s in the same spots over and over was no fun at all, at least there was no arty in the higher ranks and  when there was people team killed it quite frequently which earned me a laugh, arty salt is quite tasty as always so thats a plus. Most fun in ranked was that teamwork and communication was a true factor unlike randoms, people actually gave a crapand it was not uncommon for players to devise strategies and follow them through. It was also nice that i didnt have to deal with potatoes in my team.

 

I think the major improvement  that can be made is all about the maps 50-50 open and brawl maps sounds  right, i also find the rewards underwelming, 2k gold is nice but bonds have very little utility, I wish top players had the option to choose between  bonds, additional gold or some subpar tier 7 or 8 premium tank.

 

The major flaws were : poor map selection and too much brawling focused gameplay, why erlemberg fiery salient were removed and we get pilsen shitstorm and paris? Also the tank selection speaks volumes of the tier x vehicle ballance, you rarely saw t110e5s, e100s, is4s even the mauses that were heavily buffed 

were rare..  instead you saw super conqs, a5s,type5s 907s, is7s and some bats you also saw a fair amnount of 268 ver4s in intermediate ranks. Most of the time the outcome of the battle came down to  which team had more super conquerrors... this is insane. It was also a pure pay to win mode, if you did not have a massive amount of resources to boot forget about top ranked, its actually more of a factor than skill realy i saw many green players play only type 5 effectively, they just got into the brawl potion and tried to trade well. So you either payed up or already anticipated the requirements and grinded beforehand.

 

These are my 2 cents. TLDR: ranked  disadvantages = brawl,goldspam,paytowin overpowered tanksshitty maps advantaages: no potatoes, no cancer in higher ranks, bonds, challenge ,  better teamwork.

Super Conquerors are indeed the scourge of this season. Disgusting tanks to play against and i never had a battle without them. But in general tank balance is horrible and sadly wargaming doesnt care. Another thing i dont get and dont agree with is the whole grind part of ranked: The people who (can) play from 16:00 to 23:00 every day got a massive advantage - Why not make it more like marks of excellence and just count the chevron efficiency of the best 100 or last 100 battles so playing endless hours only gives a benefit if people improve their recent efficiency. Is this disgusting mode worth the massive time (and nerve) investment? I dont think so, only participated because of holidays.

You can cry a river for tank balance - there will always be better tanks for certain tasks. Only way to balance tanks is to make them all the same - is that what you want? Other way could be only one tank from every class would be allowed. But still.... .   I like to play Cent 7/1 and AMX30 on randoms, I do not want them to be all the same in tier IX.

I hated Mines map for sure.

Other than the stress from chevrons, I actually liked it. Less arta in higher tiers (they will be back in rank 15:arta:), occasional teamplay. I think I even improved a bit:child:

they click you, you click them back with gold in the turret.  Super conquerrors never aim , never miss and dont realy give a fvck about anything once hulldown.

They don't have to use gold ammo, but I should, its bad for game economy. I don't like using gold ammo. :(

I avoid ranked battles like a plague.... Way to many try hards all in one place, not for me thanks :)

Ranks starts at 1600 hours :/.. and here I thought it was on 1800 hours instead.... 

 

Anyway.. from rank 10 and up you hardly see any arties and indeed, the credits available are a major factor. I couldn't go any further than rank 11.3 because my credits were bleeding to total bankrupcy. 

 

But all in all, imo the best RB season until now.

IS-7 is a pretty reliable tank for this mode without bleeding credits. You can spam full APCR in an IS-7 and if you hit most of your shots you'll roughly break even. It also has the armor to actually survive and the mobility to do stuff.

Type 5 is over rated. Too slow to farm you chevrons. 

SConq are just for driving to a brawl and stay there until it ends. 

WZ1115A is a good all rounder. 

IS7 is one of the best choices because is fast and has the best turret in the game. 

 

Other heavies are too weak for this game mod.

Pay to Win

 

No fun to spend so many credits/gold.  Most spam gold ammo. 
​Rank 5, then called it quits. guess thats what it means to be average.

I've so far only played 3 games of ranked. Might do some more, maybe troll a bit by loading full HEAT in a 907 and shooting it at everything I see, just to make people piss their pants.. :hiding: Other than that, I really can't be bothered too much with it, all sounds too serious to me.. :unsure:

Most of my teams are utter filth. Instead of trying to win the players are trying to die last. By tier 10 people should know what to do and where to go, but they just aren't in ranked. Games that could be won are being lost by players determined to live long enough to make it into the top five. Every game I've played on Malinovka has been won by the North team because the South all go and camp in the southeast forest. On El Halluf the South team won't even defend the base most of the time; they just drive off to the northwest corner to die. On Sand river the West spawn all camp to the south of the wadi and lose. On Prokarovka the South team won't go to the hill. Again and again and again.

 

All the winning team needs to be rewarded and all the losing team penalised by the same amount, otherwise you're competing with your own team and not the enemy.

 

I've been taking my IS-7 out. 56% win rate random, 42% ranked, even though I average more damage.
