As it seems from the Vbaddict statistics on particular tank performances, Obj 430, now at tier IX - holds the highest winrate percentage among regular tech tree vehicles at the moment. There are few tanks above it on the list, but data sample for these tanks is too small. On the second place - surprise, surprise! - Obj 268-4.

Now, while obj 430U has caught all of the attention for its all-around OP-ness, Obj 430 has moved a tier lower while keeping a lot of Tier X flavor to it. It may be even better per-tier than Obj 430U is.

Looking at the list itself, you may note that there are Obj 907, Obj 260 and VK 72.01 above it, but of course, being the special reward vehicles, the reasons for this are very well established.

The statistics are available here:

Well, I don't know for you guys, but I'm on my way to grind that T-44 and reach Obj 430 while its still on discount....

I already had the Object 430 prior to the patch. I now have an Object 430 (tier IX) with no crew in it as the girls went to the tier X.

But if the final date to use the four Christmas girls in 20th March 2018, and the new premium Italian has not been sold by then in the shop, I may put the Christmas girls in the Object 430 (tier IX).

How well does the tank itself compare to the other tier 9 390 alpha mediums like the Patton or AMX 30?

My guess is the players who had the 430 before the changes were the somewhat better players already since every one advised against getting the 430 and that you should go for the 140 and 62A first. So the ones already having the 430 were propably players who play a lot or belong to the better players.

Considering there are only 8K of them on EU that has played a game with it, vs 24K of the 430U. It's to early to show anything. It's like comparing a CW tank to a normal tier X. You know his WR will be way way higher. As atm the 430 is mostly played by good players. The hordes of tomatoes have not gotten it yet to ruin that WR. I'm not saying it's OP or UP. I know it's still a strong tier 9. But still.

And that's why, the majority is still grinding it based on hype from topics like this etc. We saw the same thing when the Swedish and Czech tech tree came. The tier 9/X Swedish TD's and Czech meds had the highest WR for that patch on their tiers and class by a mile. Because mostly good players had used Free XP to get them and their population was low. And the others had to grind them. But later when the tomatoes got to it. The Swedish TD's and Czech meds dropped from a +55% WR to 51% rather fast. And the 430 like the 263 TD was not a popular tier X. And not many made the grind before the patch either for it to matter vs other tier 9 meds. As the population difference is way to big vs the rest to get a detailed image of it.

Look at who's playing it the most right now - and mainly for the TotT missions, meaning even more focused on winning than normally. Many of the 430U players are/were those who got the 430 in the first place because of its dpm and co - but the old 430 was a tank with a high skill cap and not many got along with it well resulting in fewer people actually grinding it after seeing videos about it, how it performed and how you had to drive it.

Thus I think it's not surprising to see that. The same happened to the Foch replacement. The initial WR was astronomical and the dmg done to dmg taken was ridiculous - but then all the "regular" players got one too thinking it might be the new flavor of the month --- and the WR and everything else got back to a rather normal level. I think I can even remember that about the PZ-7. As it's a nice tank and can do very well in skillful hands .... and as long as people didn't know the awe-full weak-spots (which makes it easier to pen PZ7 than IS-M somehow....). But then it went back to normal after some time. Same will happen to 430u.

It's a great tank, don't get me wrong. But its absolutely not nearly as idiot proof as IS-M, Type4/5 or Obj257.

It has enough armour to defend itself from lower tiers and troll some high tier guns. Small size and good camo on top of it. In short, it's more forgiving compared to Patton and AMX. Both of them still have fairy big advantage in firepower (DPM, accuracy, Patton - gun handling, AMX - penetration), Patton has more gun depression and AMX is much faster. In good hands, all three are powerful but 430 is probably easier to play since tier 7 and some tier 8 tanks have trouble hurting it.

The thing is - it's played mostly by people who already had tier X version and this line wasn't very popular. So its WR is inflated by skilled players and people with very good crews who play this tank in top configuration from day 1. Also, stock grind is very easy for a tier IX (top gun is stock).

We'll have to wait another month or two, when bobs will finish their grind in T-44 and move up to tier IX. Its stats will drop by a few % for sure.

Nothing new here. A few days after patch all the good players picked it up or free XP'ed and they inflate the figures. Forum whines that it's OP. A few months later everything settles down to normal. Guarantee you the next big 'OMG it's so OP!' thread will be the Italian tanks and it'll just be a rehash of the TVP whines.

Ever had the theory, that the bad/average players didn't grind these tanks before the change to what they are now, so the only people with these tanks currently are the good players?

I bought 430 yesterday:

39 games, all solo

64% winrate

2662 DPG

1.82 KPG

But then again, this is inline with my recent stats in T-54 and T-55A... so I guess those are OP also?

And yes, Obj257 is even more OP, but it's a bit more situational while 430 can do pretty much it all.

idk, i played with it one session and i just couldn't make it work for me, somehow. I played 10 battles with an epic wr of 30% and pitiful 2165 dpg, just to compare with other tier 9 meds that i researched and played during last 6 months:

m46 patton - 22 battles,54% wr and 3k dpg

amx 30 - 34 battles, 67% wr and 2,9k dpg

t54e1 - 101 battle,55% wr and 2,8 dpg

obj 430v2 - 115 battles, 61% wr and 2,6 dpg

T54 - 189 battles, 60% wr and 2,8dpg

the most funny thing of them all is that, so far, i have better battle performance in panther m10 lol - 11 battles 73% wr, 2,2k dpg(great statpadder :D)

only the old tier 9s are comparable damage wise to what i had in obj 430, well to be honest only bc25tap has lower dpg by 15 dpg lel, but the stats are from old lorraine and it was my first tier 9 med, so for me obj didnt work out at all. maybe i should of just kept playing it for at least 30 more battles to see, but i guess heavy tank levels of mobility killed it for me the most, dpm is not great as well, so so gun handling. I see that many players are getting epic average dpg and wr in their obj430s, gg to them, but this tank is not my cup of tea. 430U feels good, but not that special either, although i played only 3 battles in randoms, so will see how it is after 100 battles played ;)

as for the tier 9s imo, skoda, patton, t54 and amx 30 are still the best tier 9 meds

The Obj 430 wasn't great at tier X but it wasn't bad either, but now at tier IX it's good. But the stats will remain screwed for a while yet, as they did with the Super Conqueror, as they did with the Foch B, as they did with the Badger, etc. And it's because the experienced players who already had it are making hay in tier IX while the tomatoes catch up with their grinds. So soon as they do catch up the WR stats will come down because it will be played by a wider range of players, mostly lower skilled, but with some good players, just like most tanks.

IMHO it depends on your playstyle. I have great success with 430 by going in hard, play it like a mobile heavy tank basically. Sidescrape. The gun has 0.4 accuracy with crap shell velocity so it's not good for sniping anyway (0.38 with food and all that other stuff).

In that sense, 430 is maybe the easiest to play because it has armor AND 1800 hit points. You can literally be a heavy tank. Even arty doesn't do a lot of damage, so it can tank hits.

I have 0.83 armor use efficiency in 430, how crazy is that for a MEDIUM tank?

Wait 2-3 months for stats to settle down, new/rebalanced tanks always get hyped and therefore stats will be inflated by the tryhard faction.

Also remember that on tier IX it's huge factor that almost all who have and play it now got it elite straight from the bat. On top of the fact that more experienced players are only playing it.
