Hi everybody

Firstly I have bad stats and have been hanging around tiers 4 & 5 for a while trying to improve. I am now conidering moving up to a few tier 6 and hoping not to cause problems for my teams. I have unlocked the German VKs  - 28.01 needs about an extra 3.5 k on Leopard. But, which to choose? I have tried VK36.01H  before selling it - the others are just unlocked.

Russian tier 6 s are all unlocked just played T150 and 8 games in T34 85M

American Shermans and Jackson unlocked

British all unlocked except Churchill GC

Japanese O-!

Skoda T25

Any thoughts please?

The answer depends entirely on you and how you play, and what your preferences are.

Which tier 5s did you like?

I would go for Patton and E50. I'm actually doing it right now as i'm at panther2. As for the Patton i can say that is good and comfortable to play with.

He's asking for tier 6... tier 9 is probably a bit too far ahead right now

Well the reason I asked is that you will probably enjoy/do best in the tanks that are closest to what you like.

So:

  • Wolverine->Jackson
  • Crusader->Cromwell
  • VK30.01->VK36.01

are probably good choices for you.

Not that you shouldn't feel free to explore

The gaming experience isn't very similar here. If he enjoys the Crusader, then a "proper" medium would probably be a better choice.

Thank You

They are both mobile, need to avoid being shot and are mid to close range fighters focused on DPM over alpha that can perform the scouting role when needed.

They are not that dissimilar.

I wouldn't expect almost any tank to be a carbon copy of the previous one

Don't worry too much about your team.

Play tanks you like, usually you will perform better in those. I've just played mostly russian at tier 6 I think. The SU-100 is a fun TD, KV-2 is one of my all time favourite tanks and I really liked the KV-85 grind as well (except awfull gun depression)

Sure, but I personally think of the Cromwell as more a fat light, whereas the Crusader doesn't have the speed for that. I would also say the Cromwell is more serviceable at range than its forebear.

Well, with the Crusader's 12 degrees of gun depression (at least over the sides) I'd suggest the Shermans, and choose your flavour.

-E8: A full fledged medium. You use your gun depression to pole poke (stupid fingers sucking at typing) ridgelines. The guns are mediocre, and the mobility decent if not outstanding, but it is one of my favourite tier 6 tanks.

-E2: A heavy in disguise this thing still gets the same gun selection but packs some more armour in exchange for some of the mobility.

-Firefly: A kinda med/TD hybrid, this thing gets a punchier gun at the expense of mobility and flexability.

All the tier 6 Shermans can also mount a vertical stabaliser, improving your accurracy in a variety of different combat situations.

Other options:

-T-34-85 is a fairly popular medium, pretty good all rounder, though personally the gun does my nut in.

-Cromwell/A-43: These two are kinda similar. The Cromwell has already been suggested, and is a great tank. I find it plays rather like a fat light tank with a punchier gun. Decent firepower, excellent mobility the only real downside being the terrible armour. A-43 is kinda similar, trading away some of the raw top speed in exchange for better armour and using a gun with less raw punch, but better on the move accuracy.

Finally, if the idea of spanking your opponent with a gun large enough to make even the highest tier tank take a moment to consider the life choices that have led up to this moment, the KV-2 is a personal favourite of mine. Everything about the tanks sucks. Except the gun. And the gun sucks in many, many different ways but when it hits...oh sweet mama. :justwait:

The Armor on the KV-2 is quite decent aswell, you'll pull of BS bounces fairly regularly. Just don't expect it to be played like a true heavy and use the 152mm howitzer. If you want the 107 play the T-150 which would fit the gun better

I think decent is overstating it rather, but yes you can get some BS bounces. Agree with the gun choice comment though.

The T-150 is one of the better tier 6 heavy. How do you like T 34-85? Its a lot of good tanks i the USSR med line and i belive they wont be nerfed to hard because of the RU server. Safe line to progress in.

I liked the Skoda T25. T34-100 is meh but playable. The next Skoda tvp/vpu tier 8 is horrible.

P.S i play for fun. Dont care if people bash you for your stats. The gameplay is a little caotic in low tiers, if you want to learn the game step up to tier 6+

Thank you everybody. Appreciate the comments. Skiferu it certainly gets quite toxic sometimes but, hell it is only a game. The T150 I enjoy, but haven't been playing a lot as I haven't got crews with several skills yet.I have only just rebought t34 85M, so need to put a crew together.

There is a lot of good tanks at tier 6, and pretty much all the advices given here can work for you. Pick whatever you feel like and see how it goes.

Choosing a tier 7 will be a harder choice ... and oh boy ... wait till you get to tier 8s. Even good tier 8s have it tough as almost every game is a tier 10 game.

Right now go with whatever you want try them out. And remember: try to have fun. :great:
