I do not miss the giving away of positions though, or the really nasty insults and random idiots crying about "cheats". But those moments of saying hello to a friend on the enemy team were quite nice.

"hey Xplayer, catch this" moments were also funny. More so when the guy typing that misses.

Or saying "hey light, I will find you, are you in that bush?" ... firing, no dust rising then: "yeah you are :) "

Those endgame moments "coming for you arty"...

What other memories do you guys have from cross chat days?

That's the only good thing about it. You can do the late carry in peace without the butt hurt you did not save from his 1 vs 6 yolo spamming "C4,C5, B5 bush" in chat constantly.

Crosschat, negreps... all things they removed because fixing the few problems they cause would require some effort.

Those parts? No.

But come on, there was a lot of good and fun stuff beside that. :)

Oh, regarding insults, remember blindfiring a bush then some random insult popping up about you from the enemy team from a certain campy player, so you keep blindfiring that bush? :D

I'd happily see it return with the provision that any replays sent in with folk revealing positions are dealt with a lot more firmly than they have been in the past.

I miss it too. It really shouldn't be that hard to regulate toxicity and morons revealing positions. This is 2018, we can put a car in space but can't do this? For shame.

The one that stands out for me involved a Hungarian, a Romanian, accusations of stealing land and Gypsies. Apparently people from those two countries are not always on friendly terms.

I'm considering also turning off the team chat. Makes me lose faith in the youth, when it's always Tetris or Barbie. If you must stick around to insult the team after your yolo, is a little creativity too much to ask?

Sad thing is... that most of those are older them me I'm sure, and not kids "I'm 35". As most have their birth year in their nick acting like a 12 year old in chat with "72" or 1966" at the end of their name. And if you point that out and tells them to act their age. They go from 12 to 6 year old's in less the a second. Like a kid in the store lying the ground kicking because mommy said no to candy since it was not a Saturday.

Gotta be honest. Rage PM's from ppl like that is the best kind of rage PM's.

WG removed it to 'fix' the toxicity and the giving away of positions ( which happened on rare occasions and was in 9 out of 10 pointless anyway).

With the result that the 'toxicity' is now vented in team chat, people still lose games and the game has become much boring without all chat.

Instead of fixing the issues, WG swept them under the rug.

I want all chat back, it was so much more enjoyable before it got removed.

Well to each their own. I never did miss it. 99% of it was just gold spam or arty crying anyway. Nothing solid, noting interesting, nothing worth noting down. Sure the giving away positions was not every game. But still a few times a day to make it annoying. Tho they could fix that by simply saying dead men tell no tales. Dead cross chat with dead, alive with the alive. Dead can see both, but only use one. But alive can only see and use alive. That would be one way of doing it. But still... won't make the chat more interesting or more useful.

Tho after the chat was turned off. You get PM's instead. And I get +10 each day from ragers. So nothing did change there. If they want to let you know, you will know either way. Chat or not.

I often miss it when I see a clan mate or someone else I know on the other team.

And let's face it... How much has the toxicity gone down in chat? It's still a wash with insults and crying. Now it's just your team that is doing it. Big whoop
