They claim that they check for illegal mods before offering them for download.

So probably safe, and I think tank skin mods are legal, correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be WG's fault/problem if a mod on Modhub causes problems (read: a ban)

correct me if i am wrong

Didn't we just have a guy here who got a ban after downloading a modpack from that portal?

He didn't sound very credible, but... uh.

Considering since 99% of the people that get banned that comes here to whine about it say they are innocent. I suspect he was no different. Then again as I said to him, WG bans every 3 months. And if he was on the watch list before this patch and the mod site came. It don't matter how legit he was after that site came up. If you are marked, you're marked. Be it 3 moths before, or the week before.

That's a WG run site. So anything there is safe and allowed by WG.

It will be WG's fault but not their problem.

There's only one safe option and I'm only 80% convinced that's safe.

Why don't WG host their own mods submitted by developers for approval. If approved, they add them to the list of mods with a .hash file that can only be readable & verified by the game servers. Would prevent any illegal mod use & allow everyone who plays the game to find mods that are safe to use.

If you wanna be sure, only install the mods on the modhub that are verified.

That's putting a lot more faith in WG than I am capable of doing.

Indeed it would.

But your account would still be permanently banned with no possibility of getting it back. If WG decide you use wrong mods (approved by them).

Yep that’s my view. I’m a firm believer in things don’t have to be good they just have to be good enough. WG often seem to follow the line of that will do.

Like those devs that made the new MM. That gives lots of reassurance....

Whether the new MM is good or not depends on who you're asking.

Wargaming seems to like it, despite the sudden rush to  tweak it and admitting that the tier distribution is skewed towards the top.

Still, even on the forums, with mainly above average players responding, 3-5-7 is not universally hated.

"While all modifications undergo basic checks and preliminary tests, Wargaming is not responsible for their performance, quality and safety"

So it's probably safe, but they don't dare to guarantee it.

Well considering that people have already claimed to have been banned for installing mods from that page... then no.
