Gives an advantage so should not be. Seen people use it though so can't be sure.

I don't think that one is allowed anymore,

but

I am not sure to be honest as I resort to garage mods and crosshair only.

Direction indicator closest to enemy - is in the Aslain's mod pack in a legal form cause it only shows one tank.

Your picture, however, shows an illegal mod that shows tanks out of LOS and etc.

With WG, you can never know. For example, enemy gun directions on minimap gives you quite big advantage (you can peek enemy when he's not aiming your way even if you can't see him), it's clearly a cheat mod, but it's allowed by WG and you can download it from official WG mods portal.

Nobody knows, except WG.

But if you can find that mod on the mod hub, it should be allowed.

Only in a pack, not on its own, right? Because it's that useful, and if it's legal, I might break my own vanilla policy.

I would err on the side of caution and any mod you are not sure of avoid. If it is deemed naughty you may not know until WG hit you with the naughty stick and quote ignorance is not a defence :hiding:

It's available on it's own but you'll have to use Google, just use a single option installation from a trustworthy modpack.

Whatever is on the mod portal is 100% legal, WG said so when presenting it.

Im wondering ever since - how come the gun direction is considered somewhat "not fair" in WoT when its a common feature in pretty much every arcade shooter?

I've played a fair amount of shooters, since Amiga was a thing to be honest, but the only thing that I can recall is something similar to what I've seen is the original hit markers in WoT. You know a redish blob on the left side of your screen if you got hit from the left and so on, can't say I've ever come across something that put an (somewhat) exact arrow at the location the enemy was located at, not even the exact direction. Nor have I come across a game previous to WoT in which it was ok to show the direction enemies is facing on the minimap, that would have been an instant ban in most games I've played competitively in the past.

This mod should not be allowed (imo). It shows every thank visible to you on your view range without you having to even watch that way. So every spotted enemy which you are able to shoot. On top of that it even shows the distance of visible enemies. So basically worst than aim indicator on the minimap...

Aslain's does have a similar mod and Aslain's is on official mod portal. So who knows.

It seems to be more disturbing than helping.

You kidding me? No wonder some enemies turn to me the moment i turn to them and want to peek.

I use a soundpack, replay manager and that mod to check where the enemy penned you after battle in the garage. Helpfull for learning weakspots of your own tank. :o

That mod is in new WG mod center as part of Aslain and Web-something mod packs. perhaps in some other packs too.

AND(!!!!!!) WG staff member gave us his word that all mods on that magic site are legal.

Well... Just make sure you install that mod from that site and you should be fine.

Not exactly my point. The mod has every indicator of a cheat, but it's allowed by WG because of their ignorance towards gameplay. Same goes for Autoaim+ with snap. When modpack creators started putting the mod in their packs, WG declared it legal. Then after some rants they changed their mind and it's cheat now.

Same goes for mod OP asked about. He asked because he feels it's a cheat, but if you can find the mod in any modpack on WG site, it's legal.

I don't know. For me personally, if it feels like cheat, it's cheat and I won't use it, no matter what WG says.
